Ellery Hotel Provincetown

Cute hotel. There is a VERY small 4-5 car parking lot, thankfully we were there off season so we were able to park in a public lot about a block or so away. We checked in late, had keyless entry via phone. No staff that we saw. After we went out, had a hard time getting in another entrance but thankfully another person staying there let us in. Around 3 am, I woke up to the sounds of someone being sick in the bathroom in the next room. It sounded like it was right next to me 😆 walls are SUPER thin, just FYI. Also, the toilet was TIGHT between the wall and shower.

Our room continuously cranked out heat until temperatures were easily in the 80s. We called the after hours emergency number and it belonged to an employee who hasn't worked at the Ellery since 2023. We texted the number that gave us check-in instructions and the person suggested turning down the thermostat in the room. No kidding? It's kind of hard when there's no thermostat in the room. But thanks for thinking we're idiots. We were next advised to go into the hallway and find a thermostat out there to turn down. Whether that worked or not I'll never know because the only thing that helped was opening both windows completely open to the 20 degree night. That didn't make it comfortable, just bearable. That's seriously how hot this room got. Considering that I get a hotel room to sleep in, I don't care if the staff, amenities (one robe? Thanks.), or location are good. If I was offered a free stay I would happily pay $200 of my own money to stay somewhere else. Avoid!

Always a treat. Great location, lovely rooms, great service, and the spa amenities help get me through the winter evenings after cold beach treks. Once a month and it's summer again before you know it and I always have something to look forward to.

Amazing hotel and outrageous amenities. Steam room, sauna, and hot-tub. I don't know where else you can find that! Our stay was highlighted by Paul innkeeper, so kind and fun and had lot's of advice for first-time visitors. Truly loved the space and cannot wait for my next visit to P-town and our next stay in our favorite hotel.

We stayed in one of the cottages from 12/31/25 to 1/2/26 and had a wonderful stay. The location allowed us to walk around and visit local shops (use the vouchers, Far Land is awesome). We did have to park away from the hotel in a public lot but it wasn’t an inconvenience at all. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. I loved our shower, king sized bed and porch area. One of the staff members always checked in on us and made sure we were enjoying our stay.

We stayed at this accommodation for two nights. Our room was very, very small. There was hardly any room for our suitcases, and the bathroom was also extremely cramped. Otherwise, it was clean and comfortably furnished. Unfortunately, the staff was never at reception, but it was also close to Thanksgiving. We felt the price was a bit high for such a small room. Overall, the entire accommodation was decorated with great attention to detail and was very cozy. The hotel's location was therefore excellent!

The hotel itself was very clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were a little disappointed with the lack of amenities. For example, our room (#14 second floor) did not have it's own thermostat. The heat was overwhelming and we had to open windows during the snowstorm just to be able to breathe while we slept. There was no trash barrel in the bathroom (we later found a recycling bin behind the bureau in the room). Most hotel rooms have water and cups. This room had neither. The bathroom light was outside the bathroom, so using the bathroom in it middle of the night was a challenge, as we tried not to wake each other up. There was no complimentary breakfast (not even fruit, muffins, etc). We went during a snow storm and had to walk up the steps in about 3" of snow that was not shoveled. Upon checkout, no one was there to ask how our stay was or to say goodbye. While it looked like the perfect hotel, those minor things can make all the difference. We will be staying elsewhere when we return.

I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful hotel. It was spur of the moment for work and they were able to accommodate me. The rooms are beautiful and the common areas are just so cozy. Everything was very clean and my stay was wonderful! I will be coming back and I highly recommend this place.

This is a beautifully designed property at the heart of where you'd want to be during a visit to PTown. A large group of us, spanning from NY, Tennessee and Texas, booked 7 rooms late last year (Nov 2024) and early this year. I booked a $2500 pre-paid Deluxe King room for my husband and I in Nov 2024 for our 5 night stay with a check in on Thursday, Aug 28 and a check out on Tuesday, Sept 2nd. My husband received a Welcome Email confirming the details about our upcoming reservation on Monday prior to our arrival, but I did not receive one, as the person who made the reservation. Did not think much of it. On arrival, as we were attempting to check in, we were notified that our reservation had been canceled on Tuesday. They had erroneously sent my welcome email to someone who shared my first name, but not my last name. They said their system most likely auto-populated the wrong person and sent him a Welcome Email, and that person called to say they never made a reservation, so rather than investigating further, they simply canceled our reservation, and immediately rebooked it to someone else. Mind you, this is Labor Day weekend, one of their busiest tourist seasons of the summer, so there were no rooms available, basically anywhere. The front desk manager, David, was horrified, as he should be, and also so kind. He said they have a sister property, The Mercury, and they would put us up there for the night, but they did not have availability the rest of the weekend and would have to find us another place. Mercury was quaint, and the room they assigned us was beautiful!! We wished we could've stayed there the whole trip, but, again, we were separated from our group and missed out on getting to hang with them. They all decided to do a beach day, but we had already packed up our bags to be transferred to the next hotel, so missed out on that as well as their evening wine and cheese offerings . The following night they transferred us to the Waterford Inn. Kinda cute, but not our style, and being their last room, I imagine it was their least desirable as it was situated by the kitchen and breakfast patio. The following night, they found us an AirBnB waaaayyyyy outside of town for our remaining 3 nights. They drove us and our bags outside of town to a 2 bedroom condo above a garage. It was so far from town, that David and Paul, the GM of the properties, gave us the number for a pedicab to use at their expense. Again, very nice of them, but absolutely appropriate. The AirBnB was nice and roomy, and the house host was so sweet. But as we settled in, I was brought to tears because this was so far from the experience we had booked and planned for our first visit to Provincetown, we felt so isolated and separated from the experience that all of our friends were having. At this moment, David pulls me aside and, again, apologizes for the massive error, and promised a "significant refund" that the owners would be issuing to us, and thanked us for being so patient and kind during such an unpleasant ordeal. I felt that was absolutely warranted, and appreciated his understanding. A month later, I reached back out to Paul by text several times over the next few weeks, inquiring about this refund, and he continued to promise it was on its way. Finally, 2 months later, our refund check arrived. It was $193. Really?!? I reached out to Paul asking how they came up with that number, and he chose not to respond. Did David and Paul do their best to correct a wrong, yes. Was it sufficient to cover this massive failure, absolutely not. I was expecting a refund of $500-1000 at the minimum (one or 2 nights refund). It's insulting, and I will never be staying at one of their properties again, nor will our group.

Great location right in the centre but in a quiet spot. Nice rooms and very friendly staff

Rooms were very clean. Missing the smoke detector which was weird. Staff was friendly and there was coffee and water available. Would stay here again super close to down town area. Also they gave us gift cards for coffee shop for breakfast.
