Bar 1924 is a low‑key gay bar on Lytton Street, Point Loma, just a stone’s throw from Liberty Station.
It used to be The Hole, a dive with a sunken patio that attracted a cruising crowd. Today the name change brings a calmer vibe: cheap drinks, a handful of regulars and a pace that lets you linger.
Weekdays it opens at 16:00; on weekends the doors swing open at 14:00. Every night it shuts its lights at 02:00.
Point Loma has almost no other gay nightlife, so the crowd is mostly locals looking for a quiet pint. If you’re after a bar‑hop, stick to Hillcrest and budget a 15‑minute drive.
Grab a seat, order a well‑priced cocktail, and let the view of Liberty Station’s waterfront set the mood.
