In San Diego for a short stay and stopped by Noir for a quick bite. ALLY G was an amazing server! Highly recommend stopping by for a quick bite and drink.

I came here for my birthday meal with my friends and had a wonderful experience! I was visiting from the LA area and my friends who live in San Diego had come here before. The raved about this place and said it was a must-go if we were to get sushi. We made a reservation on Resy which made it really easy for us to schedule in advance. The restaurant is clean, beautiful, and has an elegant casual atmosphere. Our server David is excellent at what he does from being attentive to giving good recommendations based off our interests. He also cracked jokes with our table which was very entertaining The food was absolutely amazing! I can taste the freshness of the fish. The flavors from the sashimi to the rolls were very well balanced. The plating. We had their daily special oysters which were soooooo good and refreshing after a hot day. The celebration sashimi platter was a lot of food and bigger than what I expected. We also ordered a few rolls: Serrano Sunset, Flame on 5th, and the Samurai Shell. The kinmedai (golden eye snapper - daily special) and the hotate scallop nigiri were my top favorites and 100% worth it. Overall experience was 10/10. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.

My husband and I had high hopes for this place, but boy, did it disappoint. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation and were seated shortly after. We were given water right away, but the server took quite a while to come back and take our drink order. I ordered a cocktail, and my husband ordered a mocktail. About five minutes later, the server came back and told us their soda machine was down, so they couldn’t make mocktails. Fine — things happen. We ordered miso soup and a scallop appetizer. The scallop appetizer was actually great and came out within about 10 minutes. After finishing it, we waited another 25 minutes for the miso soup. The soup was underwhelming — nothing special. At this point, our server still hadn’t come by to take our actual dinner order. It ultimately took about 35 minutes for someone to take our order. At that point, we were annoyed, but still willing to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Then came the real issue: we waited approximately 45 minutes for our entrees. And waited. And waited. Several other tables were also asking about their food. At one point, it felt like almost every table in the restaurant was sitting there without food, just waiting. The lack of communication from the staff made the situation even more frustrating. Eventually, my husband’s food came out first. When the server dropped it off, he joked about my husband eating all the food in front of me and making me watch. I then asked if he had any idea when my food would be coming out — at this point, it had been roughly 50 minutes since we placed our order. His response? “Well, I don’t know what you ordered.” Seriously? You joke about my husband having food while I sit there without anything, and when I ask for an update, you can’t even tell me what’s happening with my order? A simple, “I’m checking on it for you,” would have gone a long way. My food finally came out about 10 minutes later — nearly an hour after we ordered. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn’t enough to make up for the experience. The sashimi was lackluster, the unagi was okay, and the California roll was something you could get at just about any sushi restaurant. The presentation was also surprisingly poor. For $180, this experience was simply not worth it. There are plenty of other restaurants where you can get better food, better service, and — most importantly — not wait nearly an hour for a sushi roll, for significantly less money. My husband and I were genuinely looking forward to enjoying this place, which is what made the experience even more disappointing. After yesterday’s experience, it’s abundantly clear that we won’t be returning or supporting this business again.

Food and service were outstanding. Great fish quality. Our waiter (David G.) was amazing as well. I’ve never seen someone so knowledgeable or passionate about fish and Japanese spirits.

Great sushi spot. The crispy rice was so good, and I can't wait to come back. The restaurant was clean, the staff was accommodating, and our server, Ally, was amazing. She was our hostess, bartender, waitress, and even our food runner, all while providing excellent service with a great attitude. She really kept everything running smoothly. Looking forward to my next visit.
