Ocean View Hotel

Very clean rooms right by the beach. Friendly service.

The location was great 😊 The staff were friendly, and I had a wonderful time. If you're using public transportation like trains and buses, I think it's a very good location. I booked an ocean view room, so I was very happy to see my favorite ocean and sunsets every day 👍😁 The building is a little old, but the view was amazing. Coffee was also available; there was a Nespresso machine and capsules, so I could drink coffee every day (just buy water). When there was a problem with the room, they responded immediately. Thank you very much 🙏 The water pressure was weak, and there was a shower. No bathtub. I wish there was a handheld shower. However, the road in front is noisy. Even at night, there were shouts and car horns... I understand why earplugs were provided in the room. I stayed in Santa Monica 13 years ago, but it's gotten considerably worse, probably due to the riots. Be careful at night ⚠️, but it's fine during the day.

What a great team at the hotel!! Eva, Theresa and David were absolutely GREAT to us!! They got a great room, with a killer view, at the last minute. They were able to get us checked in early and made awesome suggestions. The bikes at the hotel made it fun to cover more ground on the beach and the valet was super easy. The staff was awesome and we'll absolutely stay there again.

Amazing experience! I came to celebrate my daughter’s high school graduation, only to find out upon arrival that my fully paid reservation had been cancelled TWO days earlier without any notification, despite charging me 100% a month ago. Expedia/Booking.com completely messed up the reservation, and after almost 48 hours without sleep, I was exhausted and shocked. Thankfully, the team at Ocean View Hotel completely changed this experience for us. Heidi Nelson and Christian Morales showed incredible professionalism, empathy, and kindness during a very stressful moment. They found us a similar ocean view room, welcomed us warmly, and even gave my daughter a super cute gift that meant so much to us. 💛 The hotel itself is amazing: clean, comfortable rooms stocked with everything you need, including all bathroom essentials, valet parking, lots of food options nearby, and an excellent safe location just steps from the pier. Safe area! Value 5/5! You truly feel at home here! One of my favorite memories will be drinking morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the ocean and feeling the fresh ocean breeze. Absolutely incredible experience that not every hotel can offer. Thank you for turning a travel nightmare into a beautiful graduation memory for my daughter! 🤗💛5🌟

Just good enough beds in the hotel rooms. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing, though. And that's what would make us stay here again. It was pretty quiet on the balconies that were facing away from the ocean, too, so it made for calm evenings. Be sure to take advantage of their bike rentals (not electric lol) to go up and down the beach. Thank you and see y'all again soon Xo

Great location. Short walk to the pier, has Bicycles to use if you want! DIDNTY LIKE THE VALET ONLY PARKING, AND THAT WAS ADDITIONAL 65$ PLUS TIP!

Great hotel right by the Ocean and Pier!

My partner and I had a wonderful time at the hotel. We were there just for a night but were really impressed by the level of service from check in to rental of bikes, to storage of our things (and food!) and check out. Grateful for all the help Heidi, Eva and Theresa, and all the staff rendered. Thank you for making our short vacation a wonderful one!

The staff was awesome! The room was great, and its across the street from the Santa Monica pier. But the staff made the trip for me, I will stay again...

We absolutely love staying at the Ocean View Hotel in Santa Monica! We’ve been coming here every time we visit Southern California for over 10 years, and it never disappoints. The ocean views are absolutely breathtaking and one of our favorite parts of every stay. Waking up and seeing the beautiful ocean right from our room is such a treat. The location is perfect within walking distance to so many great restaurants, shopping, and all the fun things to do in Santa Monica. It makes everything so convenient and enjoyable without having to drive. The staff is always warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. The service here is consistently amazing, which is one of the reasons we keep coming back year after year. A special thank you to Heidi at the front desk, she is always so kind, professional, and helpful, and truly goes above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. Highly recommend Ocean View Hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay with excellent service and the best location in Santa Monica!

Unfortunately, consider choosing another hotel if you need to use the wifi. The wifi is unusable. I tried to troubleshoot myself for around 30 minutes (you'll understand why it took that long if you try to use the wifi yourself), but without any luck. I also called the front desk. She was lovely, but she was a part timer and wasn't able to confirm if there were any known wifi issues with a particular side of the hotel. So unfortunately, I think you need to assume that every location at the hotel is equally bad. She gave me a number to call for their internet service provider, and I spent 45ish minutes on the phone with them, but they were unable to improve the wifi.
