X-Baar sits at Komandandi tee 2, just off Freedom Square on the edge of the Old Town; older guides still give its former Tatari 1 address. Visit Estonia's 2026 LGBTQ guide calls it the oldest gay bar in Estonia, with more than one dance floor and themed nights, and it hosted the pop and retro nights of Tallinn Bearty in April 2026. The crowd is mixed: men and women, locals and Finnish weekenders, a wide age range. Google lists it open from 16:00 daily, until 01:00 Sunday to Thursday and 05:00 on Friday and Saturday, with 4.2 stars from about 80 reviews. It's quiet early in the week and fills after midnight at weekends. Event nights go up on its Facebook page.

I went with my partner last Sunday night for a drink and it was nice. It was pretty empty (Sunday evening...), but the waitress was lovely, the few people in there were very friendly, and prices were good. I'll go back next time I'm in Tallinn!

The place hosts nice parties sometimes but they have serious issues with security. They don't have any bouncers. So when last night I got physically attacked by some inebriated guy, the DJ pulled him out for a bit. But then in 5 mins he was back and the staff kept selling him alcohol like if nothing ever happened. Also I know several girls who got harassed there. Not safe, use for your own risk with a possibility to ruin your night.

Waiting 30 minutes for a drink in a half-empty bar is quite an achievement. The bartenders seemed more interested in chatting with customers than serving the queue that had formed at the bar. The Aperol Spritz arrived in a beer glass, and the beer was roughly 50% foam. The whole experience felt like the venue’s first day of operation, which is especially impressive on Pride weekend.
