Hotel Isola Bella

Very very basic but a great location. Literally a stones throw from the beach with an amazing view in particular from the room’s balcony. We spent the day at the beach & loved it. €30 for two sunbeds & an umbrella for the day (although more in peak season). Seriously don’t expect anything other than a bed and a bathroom (thankfully air con albeit noisy). Very dated room but it was suffice for three nights on the beach. Staff were nice and helpful when needed. Next time we’ll stay up the hill in actual Taormina as much more atmosphere, restaurants, bars etc. Will also save on the €10 return cable car trip each day. Overall, we probably wouldn’t stay here again. If you choose to though, go on with a very open mind.

Good reception. Staff very polite and helpful, spoke good English and told us about the local surroundings. Hotel air-conditioning, swimming pool and breakfast were all good. The room bathroom had some exposed wiring and the shower did not seal very well leading to the bathroom floor becoming very wet. The room had poor sound insulation and the noise from the road was significant. The receptionist informed us that there was nowhere to refill drinking water but directed us to a nearby store where drinking water was cheaply available.

Great location, so close to the beach and beach front restaurants/bars. Great helpful staff that assisted with taxis. Great pool with a heap of sun beds. Wifi worked great. Rooms are dated, bathroom is small and myself as a normal sized person was walking sideways from shower past toilet to sink. Bed was so stiff and pillows so flat, we found it hard to sleep. Not sure if people actually like a rock hard bed. Overall was a nice stay.

Balcony view room. If you don’t get a balcony room, you’re better off not staying. Great location. Good water pressure in shower. Towels were sandpaper and pillows were as thin as a towel. Beds are stiff as a board. Like I said, you are ONLY paying for the view room. I’m sure the other hotels are nicer but you need to decide if you’re willing to pay 3x somewhere else.

The view from the hotel room was absolutely stunning, the breakfast very tasty, and the staff helpful. With the bus stop right outside the hotel, it’s easy to reach both the city centre and the train station.
