Dalmazi (Aare)

Dalmazi is a stretch of riverside green along the Aare near the Dalmazibrücke, on the Marzili side below Bern's Old Town. In summer it is busy with swimmers and sunbathers, and its quieter corners have long been an informal gay meeting and cruising spot, mainly on warm evenings. It is a tolerated public space, not a venue, so keep things discreet and respect other park users. The Aare is cold and fast here; only swim where locals do and know your exit point downstream. The nearby Marzili river baths are a daytime summer option.
