Dalmazi (Aare)

The Dalmazi area is a strip of green along the Aare river near the Dalmazibrücke, on the Marzili side below the Old Town. Popular with swimmers and sunbathers in summer, its quieter riverside corners have long doubled as a gay meeting and cruising spot, busiest on warm evenings. It is an informal, tolerated spot rather than an organised venue — keep things discreet, take care near the fast-flowing river, and follow the usual outdoor-cruising safety sense. The nearby Marzili and Lorrainebad river baths are also known daytime summer meeting places.
