Carmel Inn & Suites

Decor inside the room is a bit outdated with the curtains, pelmut coverings and bedcovering from an era long ago. Also antique looking furniture, guess some people like this style. Bathroom looked like it had a fairly recent renovation, clean and tidy. Shame about the tissue/paper left in the toilet unflushed upon checking into the room. Bed sheets are quite thin and seem old, could feel itching of the blanket between the sheets. Hopefully these get replaced soon. Price suited us for one night on the road.

We stayed here for one night in Carmel with two kids. The blankets and bed cover were sandy and clearly not clean, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep. A clean bed is the most basic expectation for any hotel, regardless of price or star rating, and this was not acceptable. There was only one receptionist on site. When I asked to speak with a manager, none was available, and despite being told there would be follow-up, I never received a response. I also emailed afterward and got no reply. This hotel seems to rely on its location and low price, but cleanliness and guest care are lacking. I’m sharing this so future guests can make an informed decision. I have photos documenting the condition of the bed.

A good hotel for the price. The guy at the reception handled all our questions quickly and efficiently. Our check-in and stay went smoothly. The room was nice; perhaps the curtains and bedspreads could use an update, but everything else was excellent. It’s clear that a small renovation was done recently, the room has its own independent heating, and the interior is very cozy.

Our reservation got cancelled with no mobile notice. We had to drive back home instead of relaxing at the hotel on Thanksgiving weekend.

This quaint little hotel was nestled in downtown Carmel. Very close to shopping and eating. The rooms were very clean and unique. We only stayed one night but it was comfortable.

Great affordable hotel in Carmel. Antique furniture sets it apart. Clean, comfortable beds, free parking, walking distance to all of Carmel. It is a great value.

We had a great experience at Carmel Inn and Suites. Its more of a rustic vibe, which I enjoy. The hotel is quiet, clean and great location to walk to the shopping area. We booked a queen, but got upgraded to a King, which was a pleasant surprise. The front desk gentleman was very nice and accomodating. Overall great experience, thank you.

This hotel is ok but priced a little high for quality of rooms. Drapes are old, stiff and musty. Mold smell in lobby is overwhelming. Toilet in our room moved if you sat on it as it was very loose. We checked in at 4:30 and were gone by 8am next day, so cant comment on any services if there were any. It was nice and quiet in our upstairs end room. Overall it's ok, but has seen better days.

Terrible experience — avoid this motel We stayed here in Carmel-by-the-Sea and it was one of the worst experiences we’ve had. The room was dirty, the walls were stained, and there was no air conditioning. The toilet seat was loose, adding to the overall sense that the place is neglected and uncared for. Management was completely unhelpful. The manager was nowhere to be found for days and only eventually replied with no concern whatsoever. It’s clear he does not care about the property or his guests. This place is poorly maintained, falsely presented online, and simply not worth the money. We would not recommend staying here to anyone.

The rooms were a bit outdated and they had a lil mildew smell to the room when we arrived . House keeping was very nice when we needed more towels

Incredibly disrespectful worker at front desk during our stay and was giving our room to random people. During our stay very late at night to random people unlocked our room and walked in while we were in there. Do better

I had a lovely stay at Carmel Inn & Suites. The rooms are beautifully and uniquely furnished, very clean and well-maintained. Location is excellent – just a short walk to the charming town center. Free parking is a great plus. The service was friendly, though we had limited contact with the staff. Unfortunately, the pool and ice machine were out of order during our stay, and we missed a water dispenser. However, the room came with a fridge and coffee maker, which was convenient. Overall, a great place to stay in Carmel. I'd come back!
