Shinjuku CaveX

The reception attitude at Shinjuku CaveX was extremely poor — honestly the worst I’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world. Very unfriendly and unwelcoming. The venue itself is super small, basically one floor only. There is a “separate” smoking room, but it’s not properly blocked, so the entire place is filled with cigarette smoke. If you don’t smoke, it’s very uncomfortable to breathe. It was also very crowded and mixed, with no real space to move. Overall, the environment felt messy and unpleasant. For younger people especially: you deserve a much better place. No matter what your body shape or looks are — you are young, you’re cute enough, and you don’t need to stay somewhere like this breathing smoke and being treated poorly. There are many better venues out there. Would not recommend.

With the price increase, the amount of time you can stay has been reduced.

Almost the only cruising spot in Tokyo catering to DS/SD. It's small, but I'm grateful they're operating at this price considering its location.

The staff were extremely rude and impatient; they were not at all a friendly or LGBTQ+-friendly business. If you don't want to work there, just leave.

Small place

The facilities are clean, and you can enter empty-handed; the colorful wristbands are a thoughtful touch to express your interest. Mondays and Saturdays are crowded and have a great atmosphere. However, some staff members are rude and communicate by shouting, and there have been occasional instances of mistakenly asking for items back. If the service could be improved, it would still be a great place to relax in Tokyo.

The staff's attitude when I left caveX this morning was terrible. Even though I hadn't borrowed a blanket, the staff aggressively demanded that I return it. They should implement some kind of system to manage who has borrowed blankets, perhaps using locker key numbers. Also, please stop hiring such incompetent staff.

Overall it's ok. Small compared to Cave Ueno. If you have a choice between the two - go for Ueno branch.

A bijou establishment in the gay section of Shinjuku. It looked like the place was recently decorated, so generally clean. I was only there for one evening, and the few guys were mostly chubs. Since they were not my type, I left the place unsatisfied.

I visited CaveX twice during my visit to Tokyo, and I personally had a great time during both visits. I found the facility as clean as any other cruising establishment. Due to the nature of the establishment, I wouldn't expect the place to be spotless. The option to borrow underwear (japanese string or jockstrap) was appreciated. I also liked the coloured band system to show your interests. It was sometimes difficult to connect with Japanese clients. However, I put this down to the language barrier rather than prejudice. I would highly recommend CaveX for anyone looking to find some "relief" during their trip, and I will definitely visit again when I'm back in Tokyo.
