A great place to party, highly recommended. I've loved it since my first visit, and I would definitely come back and recommend it to others.

Outrageous! 😡😡😡 On Friday, I ordered one Desperados and two double whiskeys, which is two 4cl shots! But I had to pay for four double whiskeys because apparently a double shot is 8cl! 😡😡😡😡😡😡 Scammers! 😡😡😡

As I was leaving, security first prevented me from leaving and then physically pushed me out because of a completely absurd demand for €5. We were there on January 24th (Men Only/White Night). The online entry price was advertised as €13, but we were charged €18 per person on site. We were surprised but didn't question it further. You receive drink vouchers and pay when you leave. We paid for all our drinks together at the bar using one voucher. As we were leaving, I was suddenly asked to pay a €5 "minimum spend" simply because our second voucher was empty. We weren't aware of a minimum spend requirement beforehand; at first, we thought that was why they were charging €18 instead of €13, but regardless, we had both met it anyway, just using one voucher for the entire evening (the bartender, who was standing at the exit at the time, confirmed that we always ordered and paid together). When I initially tried to calmly explain the situation, a supervisor came over and insisted on the €5. I refused to pay, felt completely ripped off, and just wanted to leave. Then, suddenly, a security guard stood in the exit and wouldn't let me go. My request to call the police was ignored. When I tried to walk past him, the situation escalated unnecessarily, and I was physically pushed away and thrown out. I was absolutely speechless! Several people witnessed the situation and also found it incomprehensible. I cannot recommend visiting this place and want to warn others! The party was also really bad. There seemed to be more staff than guests.

It was very nice there, nice people and service.

I can't comment on the food. It's a bar for men only. Themed days are listed on the website. The staff and bartenders are friendly. Check the website for details before visiting.

Jails is a great venue, but unfortunately, more and more events are restricting attendance to a certain maximum age and require "club membership." There are also more mixed-gender events now. While opening up to other groups might be welcome, the weekend offerings for gay men over 50 are sadly significantly reduced. On gay nights, Jails remains fantastic.
