Jardines de Puerta Oscura Cruising

The Jardines de Puerta Oscura are terraced gardens climbing the southern slope of Monte Gibralfaro, right below the Alcazaba in the city centre. With around 14,000 square metres of hedged walkways, shaded corners and quiet terraces, the gardens have been a well-known gay cruising ground for decades - local press calls the zone one of the most famous in the province. Activity is discreet and mostly after dark, quieter than in its heyday now that apps handle most hookups, but the spot still sees regulars. Keep it low-key: this is a public park in the middle of the tourist old town, steps from the Alcazaba entrance and Paseo del Parque. Nothing illegal about cruising in Spain, but public sex fines apply if you are careless. The adjacent Monte Gibralfaro paths and Parque de la Coracha slopes are part of the same historic zone.
