Beautiful hotel with nice bar and good breakfast.

Extremely bad service. The drink was served along with inappropriate jokes from the staff, which made the whole experience unpleasant. Will not be back.

The Grand Hotel Uppsala is a dying relic of the past thanks to its current management and staff. What used to be grand now has lipton tea packets, nescafe packets and sugar packets from Lindvall Coffee. I wonder how does this happen at the most historic hotel in Uppsala, a few hundred meters from some of the finest coffee and tea producers in the world, including the legendary Lindvall, from which the genius management succeeded in getting only sugar packets. As for the staff, I told them how much we love the hotel, and politely shared with them that replacing the mass produced plastic eye covers for cotton ones with the Grand Hotel name stitched on them like the bathrobes will make all the difference, but their ego took over and they embarked on giving me the most condescending treatment for the rest of my stay, however they seemed to be fine with the dead as a graveyard bar and the less than basic continental breakfast. If this management continues, The Grand Hotel Uppsala will continue on this path toward becoming nothing but a sad memory. What a waste, what a waste indeed, and hooray to the cheap, corner cutting management.
