You park in the rather small dirt parking lot and walk down the trail. After about 5-10 minutes you’ll see a little outhouse, in case you need it. Walking further beyond that, you’ll get to the river. There are signs along the way pointing out the plants, etc. native to the area. Most of the walk is flat and easy, but without shade. I wouldn’t recommend walking here in the middle of a hot day. I would say it was an okay spot for a walk, but if you are short on time, I’d recommend Beaver Creek Conservation Area instead.
It is an easy 10 to 15 minute walk from the free parking lot to the South Saskatchewan River. There are nice views of the river and informative signs about vegetation and wildlife in the area.
Worth seeing, but not real good for a great hike. It's too short and populous. A great variety of plants. Tiger Lilies grow in the prairies grasses wild.
Located about 16 KM south of Saskatoon on Hwy 219 just off Range Rd 3055 its easy to find, well marked and plenty of parking. It does have a gate and parking / serviced out houses close at 8pm. The walk from the parking area on the boardwalk to the river lookout is about 1km. There are a few rough walking paths along he river for several Km if you want more of a walk. Good activity with small kids to kill a couple of hours.
Great trail 15 minutes outside of Saskatoon. Perfect spot to go for a walk and enjoy sunsets. There is also a fascinating scientific excursions for children and explorers where a guide tells you about local SK nature and its inhabitants. Good for both summer and winter walks, but make sure to have enough mosquito repellent in summer.
About a 10 minute, very convenient drive from Stonebridge. Lots of parking. It's not off-leash, and they have a sign with hours of operation from sunrise to sunset.
We really enjoyed our walk here. Lots of great spots to spot, nice views. Not far out of Saskatoon at all. We will come back for more hiking here.
Romantic as a couple, fun and energizing as a family, Cranberry Flats is a picturesque place to visit. I recently returned to walk there; I have many positive memories as going as a child.
The area has a few easy trails to just get out and experience a bit of nature. Sometimes, especially in summer, there can be a lot of people on the trails as it is very close to Saskatoon. Kids will love it. Lots of birds, small animals, berries and plants. Some great vistas of the South Saskatchewan River.
Great place to come to enjoy several walking paths, or just make your way down to the river and enjoy the sound of the moving water.
