Ogunquit Beach - Footbridge End (Gay Beach)

The northern stretch of Ogunquit Beach, reached by walking left from the main Beach Street entrance toward the wooden footbridge over the Ogunquit River, is the traditional gay section of the sand (sometimes called "Section G"). It has drawn LGBTQ+ beachgoers for decades and is the daytime social heart of gay Ogunquit in summer, with a relaxed, sociable crowd. This is a public, family-adjacent beach in a welcoming resort town: it is a gathering and cruising spot in the informal sense, not a secluded area, so ordinary beach etiquette and discretion apply. Activity is seasonal, peaking on warm May-through-October afternoons.
