Yellowstone Tipis

Yorumcular ne diyor

Visitors praise the comfortable and cozy tipis, excellent private bathrooms, and the helpful, accommodating staff. However, a significant complaint is the unreliable or non-existent Wi-Fi, which contradicts the website's claims. Some guests also noted that noise from wind or other guests can be an issue without earplugs.

Every staff member we met were all nice and accommodating. Every member of our group of 6 said the beds slept so good and it was such a restful night. We enjoyed the games, smore’s and sitting outside watching the elk and listening to the wind. Wonderful place to stay!!

I'll start off with the pro's of staying at the Yellowstone Tipis. - The view is beautiful. - The beds are warm and comfortable. Now to the issues we had. - The website promises "wifi throughout the property". This is a blatant lie. We were counting on access to wifi on the evenings to make plans for the following day. You might get a bar if you trek up to the main building but even then, it was iffy. When I inquired about this at the front desk the young woman working half-heartedly just said "yeah that's what happens in the mountains." If that's the case their website should not promise it then. I also noticed that the $900+ a night accomodations had their own wifi, I wonder if that one works. If you go into the main town area you get 5g, so I don't buy the mountain excuse. - The website also boasts about spa bathrooms. When the reality is a bathroom with a shower that has no door or curtain so the whole room is wet (and slick), with a basic plastic showerhead. It would have been nice to have some shelves or somewhere to set down our clothing and toiletries. The bathrooms are basic and certainly not "spa". - Breakfast is so so. Cereal, bagels, cheese sticks yogurt and hard boiled eggs. The website said muffins as well but there were none. - The young woman who checked us in was not friendly at all. I was not welcomed with even a hello. I know good help is hard to find but she is not a good person to welcome guests and show around the place. We also encountered one other staff member at breakfast, I thought she was a guest as when I walked in she barely even looked at us. - Also important to note that the tipis don't fully close. Unlike a tent with a zipper, the tipi had wornout Velcro and doesn't close, leaving space for critters to get in. -There is a horse property directly in front of the tipis. The horses are beautiful but the smell of horse poop was very strong as it was right in front of where our tipi was located. - The chairs provided near our tipi were broken with screws sticking out and one of the chairs transfers blue paint onto your clothing. The outdoor space felt very worn out and tired, not what the websites shows. There is also a gravel road behind the tipis, you will hear cars and trucks driving up that road all night. Ultimately we ended up leaving two days early and eating the cost. We were tired of the wind shaking the tipi at night, the difficulty of getting in and out of the short tipi entryway, the walk to the bathrooms, and just the overall bad vibes coming from the staff we did encounter....In hindsight we wished we had stayed in West Yellowstone the entire time. Overall It just isn't the experience the fancy website makes it out to be. I hope this review is helpful to anyone wondering if this place is right for their family. We had booked 4 nights, stayed only 2. Would not recommend the site.

The place is nice with a good tipi to stay at with much space. There is free breakfast with cereal, yogurt, cheese sticks, bagels, and coffee. It rained while we were here and only a little got into the tipi. We have seen moose both days we stayed here. Some warnings before you come: sleeping is hard without a white noise machine or ear plugs because of cars, other people and wind, the shower gets everything wet in the bathroom because there is no shower curtain, and if it is cold then walking from the shower to your tipi then you will freeze. Overall would recommend staying here but not for more than 3 nights in the tips at a time.

We stayed 2 nights at Yellowstone Tipis where we felt at home. Holly was so welcoming and went above and beyond from the booking process to our final goodbye. The staff had deep knowledge about Yellowstone and were very helpful to us planning our day and steering us in the right direction. We had a windy night but the tipis felt very sturdy and we had a heater and mattress warmers to keep us cozy. The breakfast was perfect with hot coffee, protein options, fresh fruit and warm oatmeal. In the evening, Frank made us fresh popcorn and shared his experiences at Yellowstone and answered all of our questions. I would highly recommend Yellowstone Tipis and we are considering coming back with friends and family.

We didn’t end up staying here, but our interactions with the owners were amazing. These are great people who were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely give them a look if you’re in the area!
