DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco Airport North

Convenient location near SFO, but the overall experience was disappointing. We had booked two rooms, but check-in was not smooth and the front desk initially could not locate the second room. We also paid extra for a bay-view room, but after waiting about an hour, we were still assigned a different room than expected. The property is older and the rooms are on the smaller side. Parking was also confusing, with QR codes in the lot leading to higher charges than paying through the hotel, and I was charged twice until I caught it at checkout. Location is convenient, but the check-in process, room assignment, and parking setup need improvement.

1st off the beds in our room were made and seemingly fine, but as we peeled the sheets back, the white comforter was covered with black marks. Disgusting... Went down to notify the desk about the dirty sheets. The support staff must not work late. Therefore after a wait, we were given a fresh set of covers, for us to go back up and make up the bed ourselves. As my wife and I are making the bed with the fresh sheets, we discover multiple stains on the new sheets. Gross... So we have to go back down to the lobby again. The staff got us another set of covers, this time with a brown/tan blanket. For some reason. It was finally clean though and therefore we could sleep without worry. This incident tainted the entire weekend stay. Not to mention the large stain on carpet by the room door. The good: Tons of parking and our car was safe. Location was great for my early morning walk. Just steps from a walking path along the San Francisco Bay.

Nice hotel but $47/ night parking fee is crazy. The room rate was reasonable but the parking is just gouging and deceptive.

Not close to airport. Many options closer. Built for biotech firm down the street. Typical sweet double tree cookies. Good large clean rooms. Comfy medium beds. Decor circa Brady bunch modern for 80s $46 parking fee… ouch

1 star — Serious Security Failure: Digital Key Opened an Occupied Room I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton South San Francisco for two nights (June 22–23). On arrival, I was issued a digital key and directed to room 212. When I opened the door, there was already a woman inside — a solo traveler who had no idea someone was about to walk in. She looked genuinely frightened. This is not a minor inconvenience. This is a security failure that put two guests in a frightening and potentially dangerous situation. A woman traveling alone had her sense of safety shattered in what should have been her private space. When I reported it to staff, I was told this happens approximately once a month. That response was more alarming than the incident itself. A known, recurring key assignment error at this property has not been fixed — it is simply being tolerated. The staff apologized, but an apology does not fix a systemic problem. If you are a solo traveler — especially a woman — please be aware that the digital key system at this property has a documented history of assigning guests to already-occupied rooms. I would strongly encourage Hilton corporate to audit the key management process at this location before another guest is put in this position.

TVs are awful. Nonfunctional sleep timer. No option for external input (ie: Roku, Fire, etc.).

I would not recommend to stay here, it’s run down the carpet is dirty, the headboards they do not clean them, they put 2 waters in ur room but then it’s only if your a member i believe gold silver and going up, if you’re not they want $3 per water bottle this should be free for all guests or don’t have it in the rooms at all. Whoever is running this hotel really needs to get there stuff together, I would recommend staying at Marriott or even ihg and the location sucks, lobby is way nicer than the rooms. And they overcharge for parking.

Good hotel with an amazing view if you opt for the Bay view. Despite being close to the airport, you barely hear any planes.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Look somewhere else. Prices are low for a reason. Dirty and not comfortable.

Late at night, while waiting in the lobby for my laundry, I was unable to access the restroom as my key card did not work. When I requested assistance, the front desk responded in a rude and impatient manner, telling me to lift the handle and appearing visibly annoyed. I did not expect this level of service from DoubleTree, and the experience was disappointing. I hope this feedback will be addressed appropriately. I have
