Gay Saunas in Paris: The Honest 2026 Guide

Last verified: October 2026 · Compiled from venue checks and local and international sources from 2025–2026 · Report a change

A Paris afternoon has its own sounds: the hiss of the espresso machine behind a zinc bar, the rattle of a métro train under the pavement grates, a waiter calling out "et un crème!", the paper bag of a still-warm baguette under someone's arm. Behind some of those Haussmann façades, and at the back of one covered arcade, the city's gay saunas are doing a steady trade from noon. In short: Paris has eight men-only gay saunas open in 2026, from the 3,000 m² Sun City near the Marais to a small naturist sauna under Montmartre, plus three mixed venues. Prices are fair if you are young or come late, opening hours are mostly daytime, and only two places run deep into the night.

Legal in one line: France decriminalised homosexuality during the Revolution, introduced civil partnerships (PACS) in 1999 and opened marriage to same-sex couples in 2013; gay saunas are legal, licensed private venues for adults (18+), and some ask for ID at the door.

The big three: Sun City, IDM and Key West

These are the busiest saunas, open every day from noon, each with its own events calendar and age-based prices.

Sun City · 62 boulevard de Sébastopol, 3rd

The big one, a few minutes' walk from Les Halles and the Marais. Its website describes 3,000 m² over three floors and calls itself Paris's biggest men's sauna: a pool and spa, sauna and hammam, a gym, a cinema and bar, and a large cruising area. Hours: daily 12:00–02:00, and until 06:00 on Friday and Saturday nights and the eves of public holidays.

Prices (official): Monday to Thursday €22 (under-26s €14 with proof of age, €10 on Tuesdays); Friday to Sunday €25, or €20 after 03:00 on Friday and Saturday nights (under-26s €17). Entry includes two drinks, two towels and condoms. The calendar includes a Sunday tea dance, Tuesday's Nasty Boys, a European Bear Rendez-vous from noon on the second Saturday of the month, and free STI testing with a health association on Fridays. Expect a varied crowd of locals and tourists. Reviews are mixed, and one September 2026 review describes an assault that the reviewer says staff did not deal with, so read the safety note below.

IDM · 4 rue du Faubourg-Montmartre, 9th

Right by the Grands Boulevards. The website says five levels (elsewhere four): a gym with cardio and weights, a Finnish sauna, an XXL hammam and a large jacuzzi, then glory holes, slings, themed cabins, a darkroom, orgy beds and video lounges, plus a bar and a smoking room. It is listed as naturist at weekends. Hours: Monday to Thursday 12:00–01:00, Friday to Sunday 12:00–02:00; last entry before midnight on weekdays and before 00:20 at weekends. The sauna and hammam are heated from 13:00 to 23:00.

Prices (official): on weekdays, €22 for over-35s, €16 for under-35s and €11 for under-25s before 21:00, then €16, €12 and €8 later in the evening. Sundays cost a little more by day (€24 for over-35s) and half price after 21:00. Entry includes a locker, two towels and Wi-Fi; flip-flops are extra. Free entry on your birthday, and half price on Tuesdays for members of LGBT associations.

Key West · 141 rue La Fayette, 10th

The sauna by Gare du Nord, handy on an arrival or departure day. After more than 30 years it has been fully renovated and relaunched as "KW V2.0", with a new bar, jacuzzi, hammam and playrooms, according to its website. Travel Gay lists four floors and more than 400 lockers; there's also a sauna, a gym, cabins, a video area, glory holes and a smoking room. Hours (official): daily from 12:00, closing at 22:00 from Monday to Saturday and at midnight on Sundays (some listings still show 01:00). Prices (official): €24, €18 for under-35s with ID, €12 for everyone after 21:00 from Monday to Saturday (€17 on Sundays); Tuesday is €10 for under-30s, and Wednesday is a naturist night. 2026 reviews are mixed: some praise the renovation and the hammam, others complain about the welcome at reception and quiet sessions.

Bathhouse afternoons: Odessa, Le Riad and Euro Men's Club

These three close in the evening and are at their best in the afternoon.

Les Bains d'Odessa · 5 rue d'Odessa, 14th

Former 19th-century public baths behind Montparnasse station (Métro Montparnasse–Bienvenüe, exit 6). The bains-douches were built in 1895 behind an apartment block, and their courtyard façade with its ceramic decoration has been listed as a historic monument since 1983, according to the French culture ministry's heritage database. Listings describe five levels and about 540 m² (Travel Gay says four floors), with a pool, a dry sauna, a big steam hammam, darkrooms, a sling room, a video room, cabins, a bar, a terrace and a massage service. Hours: listed as daily 12:00–22:00. Price: 2024 visitors reported paying €25; the venue doesn't publish prices that we could check, so ask at the door. The crowd is mostly men over 40, with many bears and daddies, and a 2024 response to a review on Travel Gay says it is aimed at men over 40. Afternoons are the busy time. An April 2026 visitor praised the theatrical setting and the welcome.

Le Riad · 184 rue des Pyrénées, 20th

A smaller, Moroccan-style sauna near Père-Lachaise (Métro Gambetta, lines 3 and 3bis), open since 2000: about 400 m² on two floors, with a pool, a sauna, a large hammam and cabins. Hours (official): daily 12:00–22:00, holidays included. Prices (official): €20, €10 for under-26s with ID, €15 after 20:30. Massages cost €40 for 30 minutes or €70 for an hour. 2026 reviews praise the staff, the hammam, the free tea and the calm atmosphere; the most common complaint is a cold pool.

Euro Men's Club · 10 rue Saint-Marc, 2nd

A discreet entrance through the Passage des Panoramas, the covered arcade off the Grands Boulevards. Inside: Roman-style décor with a water wall, a new wellness area (it closed for renovation in August 2025), a bar, lounges, a cinema room and a smoking room. Hours (official): daily 11:00–20:00. Prices (official): €24, €16 for under-30s, €18 after 17:00. Travel Gay describes the crowd as mature men. Good for a lunchtime or after-work visit, not for a late night.

Small and quiet: Les Bains Thai and Mykonos

Les Bains Thai · 5 rue du Docteur-Jacquemaire-Clémenceau, 15th

The former Le Steamer, a small two-floor sauna near Métro Commerce and Cambronne, where the massage is the main draw: dry sauna, steam room, cabins and a lounge, with tea and water offered. Listed at €20, €12 for under-26s, daily 12:00–22:00, though a November 2025 visitor said people leave around 20:00 and staff closed early. Reviews from 2025–2026 praise the welcome, the cleanliness and the masseurs, and note that it can be very quiet, with an older crowd.

Sauna Mykonos · 71 rue des Martyrs, 18th

A small, men-only naturist sauna at the foot of Montmartre, near Pigalle: sauna, hammam, rest cabins and an alcohol-free bar, with a mature crowd. It has had a bumpy few years, with an indefinite closure in late 2023 and early 2024, a renovation and reopening in spring 2024, and complaints since about changing hours. Its own website gives both "Wednesday to Saturday, 12:00–20:00" and "daily 12:00–20:00", and reviewers mention €15 entry in 2025, so phone before you go (01 42 52 15 46).

Mixed and trans-inclusive venues

These three are not men-only. They are listed in gay guides, but go in knowing what they are.

    • Atlantide, 13 rue Parrot, 12th (near Gare de Lyon): a self-described sauna libertin open to "all tendencies", welcoming curious straight men, women, bi, gay and trans guests, with themed afternoons and evenings. Listed as open daily 12:00–22:00. Prices weren't published in any source we could check.
    • Star City, 27 boulevard de Clichy, 9th (Pigalle): a mixed sauna "open to all sexualities", with sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and a lounge bar. Travel Gay says the men-only cruising area costs extra, and lists hours of 12:00–02:00 (to 05:00 on Fridays and Saturdays). Reviewers report paying about €50, and its 2025–2026 reviews are mostly poor, with complaints about the welcome, cleanliness and value. Not the same venue as Sun City.
    • Amphibi, 15 rue Lacroix, 17th (Batignolles): a small sauna open since 2006 for men, trans women and cross-dressers, with a hammam, sauna, cabins and an alcohol-free bar. Listed as open daily 13:00–22:00.

Closed or changed: Le King Sauna (21 rue Bridaine, 17th) and TiL'T Sauna are listed as closed by Travel Gay. Gym Louvre (7 rue du Louvre, 1st) is marked closed by Travel Gay and misterb&b, and no recent reviews suggest otherwise. Le Steamer is now Les Bains Thai. Older guides, including some of ours, may still list them.

Look after yourself. Recent reviews of several Paris saunas mention locker or clothing thefts, and one 2026 review describes an assault. Bring only what you need, keep your locker key on your wrist, and don't accept drinks or substances from strangers. Consent applies everywhere, darkrooms included: you can always say no, move away or leave, and staff should act if someone ignores that. Report problems to reception; in an emergency call 112 (police: 17).

    A Paris afternoon

Do it in the Parisian rhythm. A café crème and a croissant standing at the zinc; lunch on a formule (set menu) at a neighbourhood bistro; then the sauna in the slow hours after 14:00, when Odessa, Le Riad and Euro Men's Club are at their liveliest. Around 19:00 comes the apéro in the Marais: the bars on rue des Archives and rue Sainte-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie, with Le Cox's crowd spilling onto the pavement. Dinner around 21:00, and if the night isn't over, Sun City, a short walk west on boulevard de Sébastopol, is open until 06:00 on weekends.

    Practical tips

    • ID for discounts: under-25, under-26, under-30 and under-35 rates are common, and at IDM and Le Riad the youngest rate is half the full price. You need official photo ID to get them, so carry the original.
    • What's included: a locker and towels are normally included; Sun City adds two drinks. Flip-flops and massages are usually extra.
    • Métro: trains run from about 05:30 until about 01:15, and until about 02:15 on Friday and Saturday nights and the eves of public holidays, according to the RATP. Times vary by line, so check your last train.
    • Noctilien: night buses run from about 00:30 to 05:30, with hubs at Châtelet, Gare de Lyon, Gare de l'Est, Gare Saint-Lazare and Montparnasse, and a Navigo pass is valid on them. N140 and N143 run from Gare de l'Est to Roissy-CDG, and N22 and N31 run to Orly. Taxis and ride-hailing apps cover the gaps.
    • The Marais: the 3rd and 4th arrondissements around rue des Archives and rue Vieille-du-Temple are the bar district. Sun City is on its western edge; IDM and Euro Men's Club are near the Grands Boulevards to the north-west, and Key West is by Gare du Nord.
    • Timing: afternoons are the main session at most saunas, since few stay open past 22:00. For late nights, it's Sun City or IDM.
    • Sexual health: PEP is available through hospital emergency departments (urgences). Sun City advertises free STI testing on Fridays.

    Paris Pride (Marche des Fiertés)

Paris Pride normally fills the city in late June. In 2026, the march planned for Saturday 27 June was cancelled at the last minute during a heatwave, with temperatures near 40 °C, at the request of the Préfecture de police. The Inter-LGBT rescheduled it for Saturday 3 October 2026, on a shorter route from Place d'Italie via boulevard Saint-Germain to Place de la Bastille, with a free concert at the finish. AFP reported several tens of thousands of marchers. The 2027 date had not been announced at the time of writing; check the Inter-LGBT.

Frequently asked questions

How many gay saunas are there in Paris?

Eight men-only gay saunas were operating as of October 2026: Sun City, IDM, Key West, Les Bains d'Odessa, Le Riad, Euro Men's Club, Les Bains Thai and the small naturist Sauna Mykonos. Atlantide, Star City and Amphibi are mixed venues open to other genders. Le King Sauna and Gym Louvre have closed.

Which Paris gay sauna stays open latest?

Sun City, at 62 boulevard de Sébastopol, is open from noon to 02:00 every day and until 06:00 on Friday and Saturday nights and the eves of public holidays, according to its website. IDM closes at 01:00 from Monday to Thursday and 02:00 from Friday to Sunday, with last entry around midnight. Most of the others close between 20:00 and 22:00.

How much does a gay sauna in Paris cost?

A full-price entry is mostly €20–25: Sun City charges €22 from Monday to Thursday and €25 at weekends, IDM €22 for over-35s before 21:00, Key West €24, Le Riad €20 and Euro Men's Club €24, according to their websites. Age discounts (under 25, 26, 30 or 35 depending on the venue) and evening rates bring most of them down to €8–18. Bring official photo ID for any age discount.

Which Paris sauna suits bears, mature men or a younger crowd?

Euro Men's Club and Les Bains d'Odessa draw mostly mature men, with a strong bear presence at Odessa. Sun City is the largest by its own description and often the busiest, with a varied crowd of locals and tourists and a bear afternoon on the second Saturday of the month. IDM, Key West, Le Riad and Sun City all have cheaper rates for younger men, and Le Riad is smaller and calmer.

When is Paris Pride?

Usually in late June. In 2026 the march planned for Saturday 27 June was cancelled at the last minute because of a heatwave and held instead on Saturday 3 October, from Place d'Italie to Place de la Bastille, with several tens of thousands taking part. Check the Inter-LGBT for the 2027 date.
