The short version: Denver's gay bars are mostly on one road. East Colfax Avenue through Capitol Hill has Charlie's, X Bar, Buddies and Tight End within about a mile, and the big club, Tracks, is a short ride north in RiNo. Older guides say South Broadway has "most of the bars". That stopped being true years ago: Li'l Devils is the one gay bar left there. We checked every bar below against Out Front, Westword, Denverite, Visit Denver and the bars' own listings in October 2026.
East Colfax and Capitol Hill
- Charlie's, 900 E Colfax Ave. Country-western since 1981 and the Colorado Gay Rodeo Association's home bar. Two-step and line-dance lessons on Wednesday and Thursday, a pop dance room at the back, drag on Sunday. Open daily to 2am.
- X Bar, 629 E Colfax Ave. Dance bar with the best patio on Colfax, a go-go and drag stage, and DJs all night on Fridays. Opens at 3pm.
- Buddies, 504 E Colfax Ave. Opened in 2023; a pub with darts, pool, burgers, trivia and weekend brunch.
- Tight End, 1501 E Colfax Ave. The gay sports bar. Games on the screens, a patio, drag bingo on Friday.
- Hamburger Mary's, 1336 E 17th Ave. Drag restaurant with weekend brunch shows, Wednesday bingo and Thursday karaoke. Book at weekends.
- Wild Tulips, 1209 E 13th Ave. Sapphic bar that soft-opened on 28 October 2026, Denver's only lesbian bar at the moment. Pool, drag, trivia and dancing; alcohol-free until its licence comes through.
- #VYBE, 1027 N Broadway. Family-run "no label" LGBTQ+ bar just south of the Capitol, with a balcony, karaoke Monday and Wednesday, and drag.
- Tracks, 3500 Walnut St, RiNo. Denver's big gay club since 1980, Thursday to Sunday from 9pm. Thursday is 18+, Saturday 21+, Sunday is the drag night. Expect a cover and a line after 11pm on Saturdays.
- Trade, 475 Santa Fe Dr. Leather and fetish bar with a patio and its own parking. Thursday is underwear night (Skivvy), Sunday karaoke, and pup and bear nights through the month.
- Town Hall Collaborative, 525 Santa Fe Dr. LGBTQ+ community café, co-working space and bar with jazz and poetry nights.
- Denver Eagle, 5110 W Colfax Ave. The leather bar moved here from East Colfax in March 2022, so it's a drive from Capitol Hill. Gear, pup and bear nights; closed Mondays.
- Li'l Devils Lounge, 255 S Broadway, Baker. Neighbourhood bar with a heated fire-pit patio, frozen drinks and cheap pours.
- El Potrero, 4501 E Virginia Ave, Glendale. Gay Latin club since 2008: reggaeton, banda, cumbia, drag on the big nights. Wednesday to Sunday.
- Last call is 2am across Colorado.
- The Colfax bars are walkable from one to the next; Tracks, Trade and the Eagle need a car or rideshare.
- At 5,280 feet, alcohol hits faster than at sea level. Drink water.
- Pride weekend (last full weekend of June) means lines everywhere and ticketed parties at Tracks; buy early.
Also on Colfax: Champagne Tiger (601 E Colfax), a queer-run restaurant with Sunday drag brunch and Thursday drag bingo, and R&R further east at 4958 E Colfax, generally cited as the city's oldest gay bar, from the 1970s.
RiNo, Santa Fe and further out

Gone but still on old maps
Denver Sweet (closed July 2025), Boyztown (December 2024), Blush & Blu (October 2024), The Pearl (April 2026), Triangle (October 2023) and the Denver Wrangler (2018) are all closed. Glow Lounge, next door to X Bar, is still open but we found no gay-press source calling it a gay bar. There's no gay bathhouse in Denver; Midtowne Spa closed in 2022.
