Charlie's Denver

Well wanted to enjoy a night of line dancing but was turned away by security because a member of my party had a vertical license thus couldn’t be accepted for entry. It was told to us that it was company policy to not accept a vertical license despite the age of 21 or older. We were told we could take the matter up with cooperate which was to no avail. Good luck keeping a steady flow of customers having silly policies.

Got kicked out of this bar for the first time in 37 years of life, without an appropriate reason. I used the bathroom appropriately with my gf to save stalls- a respectful thing for gays to do for years. No wonder your ratings are so low after being open for so many years and going aggressively downhill within the past year. I have been a faithful Charlie’s patron for 11 years. In the past year, you very obviously become the worst gay bar in Denver. Congratulations! I have been a big charlies advocate until now, you have turned a 10+ year Parton into an xbar/tracks advocate. Well done.

I love Charlie’s! It’s like, one of the few places in town that oddly reminds me of my old home, before Denver, but it’s nice. Everyone is chill and sweet, and they do wand and pat people down for weapons, so… you’re likely to be PRETTY damn safe. They don’t tolerate fighting at all either, so keep it drama free or you’ll be thrown out. Outside of that? Have fun! Enjoy yourself! Let your hair down and relax! Talk to people! No one is gonna bite you, unless you ask! ;)

As an out-of-state performer, I can honestly say that Charlie’s Denver went above and beyond in every way. From the moment I arrived, the entire staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and accommodating. They made the whole experience seamless, which is something you don’t always find when traveling and performing in a new city. The dressing room setup was fantastic clean, spacious, and actually designed with performers in mind. It made getting ready feel comfortable and stress free, which really sets the tone for a great show. The atmosphere in the venue is everything you want in a nightlife space. The energy is high, the crowd is engaged, and the vibe is just right. The DJ kept the night moving with great music that had everyone on the floor and fully in it. I’ve performed at and visited bars all across the country, and I don’t say this lightly Charlie’s Denver is easily in my top five. Whether you’re a performer or just coming out for a night, this place delivers every single time. Can’t wait to be back.

This place allows hate speech and aggressive behavior. There’s a known individual from a kickball league that threatens to call ICE on people who are US citizens and throws out wild accusations but the staff allows it. It’s happened numerous times and he’s even been thrown out by security for getting aggressive with them. Well, it was brought up to security AGAIN today then to the manager and they allowed him to stay. He is mentally unstable…if you want an inclusive, safe space, this isn’t the place! It’s only a matter of time before there’s a serious incident. Time to take a stand against HATE!

Sometimes it smells like bathroom.

The DJ only played only things he wanted to hear. Nothing dance worthy even for EDM (apparently hip hop and reggaeton dont happen here). Pay attention to the crowd. When people start vaping on the dance floor, it means they aren't feeling it.

Funk bar great vibes

Charlie's is a staple for a night out in Cap Hill area, but shhhh their dance team and shows are Denver's best kept secret! World class performances in intimate spaces makes it a great spot to bring a group, or enjoy on your own! Patio, bar, dancefloor, lounge area-there is a spot to match your vibe.

The Taller Mexican boy who does security at the front door needs to be fired. He has a terrible attitude. That isn't a good look for Charlies.
