Oceanside Marina Suites

I grew up in Oceanside and I love this place. It is so lovely. The pool and hot tub are wonderful. The harbor beach is my favorite place. The staff here are all very nice and helpful. Yes, this was built in 1966 and I have "known" this beautiful hotel since I was 2 yrs old. It is not supposed to be a modern, fancy resort. I am glad it's not.

We booked a big suite there were no AC and no airflow and the staff didn’t even want to bring us another fan. The staff was super rude and not hospitality at all. They didn’t care and they were very unpleasant.

Desk person, Sila was very accommodating.

First of all, the views are spectacular! The views of the ocean is what I come to the ocean for because i rarely get in the water. So, to have the views of the ocean laying in bed instead of the hot, hard sand is a no brainer! The staff is very informative and friendly. And the suite that i have is cozy and romantic! The no AC is totally not a factor because opening the double doors to let the fresh air and breeze in takes your experience of tranquility to another level! The hotel is older, well kept and theres nothing that a little elbow grease can't fix! My husband loves the beach so i brought him here for his birthday! This hidden gem is located on a peninsula that gives a little seclusion and we enjoy the privacy! We love it so much that I am going to try to see if they have availability to extend our stay!

I checked in around 4 PM, and the very next night around 11:30 PM, two staff members came to my door, peeking through the window before knocking, and demanding that I provide a card and pay for a night that I had already paid for when I checked in. My young niece was in the living room and actually saw them peeking through the window. It scared her, and I want to know what makes it okay for hotel staff to look through a guest’s window like that late at night. That should never happen. There was a new employee who checked us in, and he made several mistakes on his end. When we called the front office that night, they couldn’t believe what had happened and told us that it should not have happened and that it was completely their fault. They acknowledged that the situation should have never occurred. Being approached at 11:30 PM and told they weren’t leaving until I gave them a card was completely unacceptable, especially after I had already paid. I spoke with management, and they said they would need to speak with their management. They also mentioned that additional staff training may be needed. Based on my experience, I would highly advise against staying here. I hope management takes this seriously and makes sure no other guest or child has to experience something like this.

There are good reviews on the rooms that has oceanview. But I got the room with a small window and one fan. There is no AC in the room during a heat wave and as soon as you walk in the room. There's a bad smell and hot air that greets you.

The rooms don't have air conditioning; they give you a floor fan 😒 and the shower water is only hot 🥵 . It was okay for one night, but never again, lol 😆

Unfortunately I went back to visit to try to book a group. The two people that were managing at that time were very rude and would not let me even use the bathroom while I was trying to book and made me drive 5 miles away to go to the bathroom after that experience I decided not to book with this facility and decided that this facility was not for me anymore. I hope that you will really consider when booking the challenges you may face as you consider booking this facility there was a time when it was better but now that time is no more. To make someone go 5 miles away to use the restroom was so uncalled for the people were very rude I was actually shocked and I believe that one of the people were the vice president or the assistant manager of the facility. After that experience I just decided not to book any group at this facility. I want to say more but at this time I choose not to but all I can tell you is be very aware

Last time i stayed here i rated it 10/10.Unfortunately this time i fear this hotel and its staff have forgotten they are in the Hospitality business,this means each and every staff member should make the paying guest feel welcome and and at home. Checking in was a nightmare with a passive/aggresive front desk clerk who was annoyed when we queried whether the 2 bedroom unit we booked was facing the harbour or the ocean.She was annoyed we booked through a third party website (booking.com),she threatened to cancel our booking ,in short she made us regret our choice to stay here again.never again.

We booked a stay at Oceanside Marina Suites to be close to our daughter’s Surf Cup soccer tournament without having to wake up early for her Saturday game. We searched Expedia for a place moderately close to the fields to avoid heavy tournament traffic, and this location fit the bill. While the pricing was great and the staff was wonderfully friendly, the overall experience showed why this property carries a 3.8 rating. On the positive side, parking was hassle-free and conveniently close to our room, likely because the hotel wasn't at full capacity. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff was very welcoming throughout our stay. Unfortunately, a few key issues dragged down the experience. We found a dirty towel in our room, but the ultimate dealbreaker was the complete lack of air conditioning. While I realize coastal hotels sometimes rely on ocean breezes, opening the windows and running the ceiling fans simply wasn't enough to keep the room cool or get proper airflow moving. Between the cleanliness oversight and the uncomfortable room temperature, we likely wouldn't stay here again.
