Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country

Great family-friendly hotel with fun little surprises scattered throughout. Pros: Rooms were spacious and clean, and they had a totally unexpected s'mores event — such a fun touch and delicious! Lots of nice little chill-out spots both inside the hotel and in the garden area too. Cons: The pool was way too small and always packed, so we barely got to use it. Also parking fees were confusing — the exit gate was always open like it was free, but we still got charged $24.

If I could give negative stars I most definitely would. My family had booked a room using credit card points months ago, only to arrive at the hotel after a long travel day to be told that there was no room to accommodate our standing reservation. Needless to say we were shocked, having never experienced being told our reservation meant nothing by a hotel after hundreds of hotel stays around the world (we've been lucky I guess). One front desk staff told us that the hotel was overbooked on accident and they would begin calling around to find a nearby hotel to transfer us to and it would be about 15-20 minutes. BTW this is at 10:30pm on a holiday weekend so nearby availability would be scarce. We waited 20 minutes and that particular staff member was nowhere to be seen. We asked another staff member who then said there was a maintenance issue and they were still working on other accommodations. We were then promised the room we were being moved to would be comped by Hyatt (well, duh?!?!) and they would provide an additional credit for our troubles. Fine. Finally after 45 minutes the second staff member has found us a room at another hotel (25 minutes away!) but he rebuked on the additional credit he promised saying that "was only if they couldn't find us another hotel." All three of us were shocked about this blatant lie, and instead of realizing his error when all three of us disputed that new statement, he argued with us and kept fighting for his lie. Basically, they would credit us only if they had nowhere for us to stay. No kidding, that is literally the bare minimum you could have done! Unreal, with a brand like Hyatt I would expect to have a room to match my reservation, but at the very least great customer service to handle the situation. Instead we got lied to, argued with, and manipulated by staff. It was over an hour before we were given the proper paperwork to transfer to the new hotel. Needless to say this was absolutely the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Book somewhere else unless you want no room when you arrive.

The room and the hotel were fine but we had a horrible experience with the front desk team when my husband tried to pick up the ice packs we use to keep breast milk cold for my 3 month old baby. He was told the team should’ve never accepted the ice packs and the front desk gave him a hard time. Absolutely unacceptable behavior and response, especially when the ice packs are considered “medically necessary” equipment for baby’s well being. Separately, the $24 parking fee per day is criminal.

Great spot, love Hyatt, wish they had more locations in this area.

Let me begin by saying the staff at this Hyatt were exceptional and accommodating, eager to address all of our issues and kindly recognizing our engagement. They helped us quickly check in, and during that process we noticed the very nice lobby and courtyard area. The hotel itself is in a great location for folks visiting to do tastings during the day. We got to our room and it seems fine, definitely quite dated, but fine. But upon further inspection, the bathroom was filthy. The grout was gross, mildew growing on the tile and the shower door gasket, and the shower heads looked like they'd never been clean. A staff member at the front desk immediately got us into another room, but it wasn't much better. The housekeeping staff at this hotel, as other reviews allude to, seem not to care very much about getting the job done or are under too much pressure by management to work quickly. Cleanliness in guest rooms is the bare minimum, a prerequisite to any pleasant stay, and when the room is dirty it is impossible to enjoy the other amenities available. Would not stay here again, regrettably, because of the cleanliness problems.

Very convenient. We use points & love that we are except from paying resort fees, since we are owners. I'd like there to be a discount for handicap vehicles, for added support to guest who have one.

I had a amzing relaxing weekend for one, the room was great I ened up spending most of the weekend by the pool reading a great book while enjoying the wine from the onsite bar. Everyone was friendly the loction was perfrect I was able to park my car and walk around when wanting over my stay. I enjoyed the the pool and the fire pit. The employees were all so friendly and kind. I really enjoyed my weekend of relaxing. I defenitly would come back for another weekend.
