Casuarina Free Beach is the clothing-optional stretch of Casuarina Beach inside the Casuarina Coastal Reserve, about 20 minutes north of the Darwin CBD. It has been an officially designated nude beach since the 1970s. The far north-eastern end is known as the part used by gay and bi men, though how busy it is with cruising is not confirmed.
There are no facilities on the sand, so bring water, shade and sunscreen. Box jellyfish and other stingers make swimming unsafe roughly October to May, and crocodiles are a risk on all Top End beaches. Sexual activity in public is illegal, so keep it to sunbathing.
