MAX Bar has been listed for years as a gay bar with a dance floor near Dongmen Bridge (East Gate Bridge) in Chengdu's Jinjiang district. Travel listings updated in 2025 still showed it, but we found no confirmation that it was open in 2026. Gay bars in mainland China often close, move or change their names without notice. Before making the trip, check a recent listing or ask on a local app such as Blued. Bars like this usually get going late, after 10 pm, and are busiest at weekends.
