Hey Teddy

Hey Teddy is a bear bar on Abaca Street in Poblacion, Makati, on the ground floor of the Virra 1 Building, one lane over from the P. Burgos strip and a short walk from Halxyon Club and Apotheka. It opened in 2026 and is the only bear-oriented gay bar in Metro Manila, but the house rule is that you do not have to be a bear: anyone aged 18 or over is welcome, and IDs are checked at the door. The bar runs a published weekly programme. Wednesday and Thursday are happy hour from 18:00 to 21:00 with 30 percent off beer and mixers; alternate Thursdays host Bear Lab, a social run with the Rogue MNL crew. Fridays are themed (tank-top night, sweatpants night, a go-go night billed as 'Office Hours') and double as Drag Race Philippines watch parties during the season. Saturdays are DJ or pop nights such as House of Britney, K-pop night and iPod-era pop. Sundays are the quiet nights: Teddy Sing-A-Long karaoke, trivia or bingo, with karaoke afterwards. Opening hours are Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday 18:00 to 02:00 and Friday and Saturday 20:00 to 04:00; the bar is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Entry is usually free on regular nights; ticketed events sell through the bar's online store and walk-ins are admitted if there is capacity. Table reservations require a minimum spend of PHP 3,500 on drinks and food, with an optional PHP 2,000 confirmation fee that is deducted from the bill. The crowd is mostly local gay men in their late twenties to forties, with a steady stream of visitors, and the room is small enough that newcomers get talked to. Staff are used to foreign guests.
