The Scarlet Singapore

Great hotel in a lively area with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Close to a metro line and well-connected to the city. The rooms are small but comfortable with everything you need. The service is quick and efficient. We didn't use any of the other amenities and services offered by the hotel.

STAY AWAY. Horrible place. Checked in to the suite, found chicken wing bones on the balcony next to my jacuzzi which was very dirty. Room had ants as well. Requested for refund within ten minutes of walking in to the room, to which the manager assured me they will process the refund. It has been more than two months, the hotel closed down, rebranded, refused to answer any of my multiple emails. No updates to my $700+ dollars, no refunds though the manager Jimmy Wu, Puvan Arjunan, Serena and the rest of whoever I managed to get hold of assured me the finance would process my refund. Eventually after their new website was up with a shiny new name "The Erskine" , I called up the contact number which went to a lady named Margaret. She too told me finance would process it but yet there's still no refund. Margaret even told me to go file a fraud case with my bank. Wow. No one from the company has replied any of my emails. Empty promises, poor customer relations and bad integrity. Ask me for pictures of the chicken wing bones and videos of ants in the room and I'm glad to share since Google review has no options for photos. I also have the email thread of them telling me their finance would process my refund. What a joke of a place.

It is cozy

Very nice (small) hotel fairly central in Singapore! close to the food market. We only stayed here 1 night but will definitely come back!

Scarlet hotel is one of Singapore's iconic hotel.

Absolutely loved my stay at The Scarlet. The refilling of the fridge and the free water for in house guests was very welcome especially in the heat. Very relaxing environment and the location to Maxwell MRT and Chinatown was perfect.

Fabulous stay at The Scarlet for several nights at cruise end in order to experience Singapore. Boutique hotel in a historic building with a worn lounge aesthetic that would appeal to a romantic couple, but was also charming for me traveling with my mom. Comfortable, quiet, clean, well-appointed room; a window or not would not matter. Complimentary drinks, snacks! Great location - easy walk to Chinatown, MRT station, Maxwell food centre, bus stop (including Hop On Hop Off). The Scarlet had The Best staff - enjoyable, efficient, and helpful - beginning with an unexpected but MUCH appreciated early check in. Thanks to Iqbal, Putri, Ryann, and Shakira. <3

Overall good business hotel for Chinatown, Singapore. Only complaint would be the keycards for the room consistently not working and having to be re-programmed by the front desk. Would stay here again.

Don’t book if you care about check in time. Tried to check in earlier than the normal check in time (2pm) The manager told me he would try. And something should open by 1pm. Fast forward to 2:40pm, 40 mins past the normal check in time, I was still waiting in the lobby could barely sit straight due to jet lag and the 13 hour flight I just got off from in the morning. The good thing was: after my third time checking with them on what time they could get the room ready, they offered me an alternative room to rest until my booked room is ready.

Unfortunately, my experience with The Scarlet Singapore was extremely disappointing. I had made a booking well in advance, which was officially confirmed, but the hotel cancelled it without providing any explanation or offering an apology. I find this behavior highly unprofessional and disrespectful. To make matters worse, I had chosen this hotel for a stay during a very busy period, so now it will be very difficult to find a suitable alternative without facing higher costs or having to settle for something less. Customer service like this is simply unacceptable, especially from a hotel that markets itself as a high-end boutique property. I will never book here again and I do not recommend it to anyone.

The location is fantastic! 👍🏻 It's just a 30-second walk to the nearby Temple of the Tooth Relic. So convenient! There's also a subway station nearby. And the Te Pa Sat restaurant. It perfectly meets all my needs.
