This restaurant should be called "Kleinkösterei" (a play on words combining "small" and "small"). High prices for half portions. I had a half portion of tough veal goulash for 20 euros, and my son had half a small beef steak for 23 euros, under which lurked a space-consuming, wet mushroom cap. Simply awful. Unbelievable! We've been in Budapest and Vienna for eight days and have been delighted with the food so far. But this "Kleinkösterei" is by far the worst. We paid 120 euros for appetizers (without bread), a beer, and two glasses of wine, and are now sitting in a café eating Kaiserschmarrn (a type of shredded pancake) to fill ourselves up.

Unfortunately, our visit was a huge disappointment. The quality of the food was far from convincing. The spinach dumplings tasted as if they had been frozen and then simply reheated – they were very hard and anything but fresh. The boiled beef was equally disappointing: the meat was extremely tough and barely edible. In addition, my wine order was taken incorrectly. I had ordered a Yellow Muscat, but a house wine was served. As a sommelier, I noticed the difference immediately with the first sip. The waiter's reaction was all the more irritating: he took my glass, smelled it, and looked skeptical. In a restaurant, I expect the wrong wine to be taken back without comment and replaced with the one I actually ordered. The service was also very poor overall. Although the restaurant wasn't full, we had to wait a long time for our food. Furthermore, the dishes weren't served at the same time. The way our feedback was handled was particularly disappointing. When we pointed out that the boiled beef was very tough, we received only the response: "I don't usually get feedback like that." There was no apology or offer to pass the criticism on to the kitchen. Overall, neither the quality of the food nor the service met our expectations. The ambiance, especially outside, is very pleasant, however. Based on this experience, we unfortunately will not be visiting this restaurant again and cannot recommend it.

The food was so delicious. We took goulash, risotto and schnitzel. Best experience we tried in Austria in 10 days.

Nice restaurant in a nice spot, away from the tourism craziness of the city center. Tafelspitz and Goulash were amazing and the waiters were very kind to us.

Charming Restaurant on Judenplatz – Authentic Viennese Cuisine with Heart The delicatessen on Judenplatz completely won us over. The quality of the food was extremely satisfying and left nothing to be desired – it's clear that the food is prepared with care, good ingredients, and respect for traditional Viennese cuisine. Special praise goes to our waiter, Andi, who made a very positive impression from the very first minute. He was extremely courteous, exceptionally friendly, and always respectful in his interactions with us guests. This kind of attentive and warm service makes the visit a truly special experience. The atmosphere and ambiance in the outdoor area are also exceptionally pleasant – you can relax on Judenplatz, right in the heart of one of the most beautiful corners of Vienna's city center, and enjoy the lively atmosphere in peace and quiet. An important note for future guests: This establishment deliberately specializes in smaller portions at correspondingly lower prices – a perfectly harmonious concept that's ideal for a leisurely lunch or a light dinner. Those who prefer larger portions at correspondingly higher prices will find them at the location on Neuer Markt – which is where our next culinary excursion will take us. Culinary Highlights: - The Wiener Schnitzel is authentically prepared and tastes superb – just as you'd expect in Vienna. - The spinach dumplings are wonderfully filling and delicious. - The Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake) impresses with a pleasantly subtle hint of cinnamon and is highly recommended. - The homemade pear lemonade is a particularly noteworthy non-alcoholic beverage – a truly delightful accompaniment to the meal. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant with a charming atmosphere, warm service, and genuine Viennese cuisine. We'll definitely be back!
