Le Cox is a gay bar at the corner of Rue des Archives and Rue Sainte-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie, at the centre of the Marais. It's a men's bar with a fairly wide age range. The room is small, so on most evenings the crowd ends up drinking on the pavement outside, and that pavement scene is a big part of why people go. It opens daily from 17:00 to 02:00, and the early-evening hours are the busiest. It works best as a first drink before moving on to other Marais bars. The décor changes from time to time. Its Google rating is middling, and the complaints are mostly about crowding and service speed rather than the scene.

Great bar with a really fun atmosphere. I came for the pre-party and had a fantastic time. The crowd was friendly, the music was ок, and there were plenty of attractive guys, which definitely added to the vibe. The staff were welcoming, drinks were reasonably priced, and it was a great place to start the night before heading elsewhere. I’d happily come back on my next visit to Paris. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a lively and social evening.
