Barcelon is a gay bar on Augustinerstraße in Cologne's Altstadt, close to Heumarkt. Its Mediterranean, Gaudí-inspired décor sets it apart from the city's Kölsch pubs. It serves wine, beer and cocktails to a relaxed, mostly local crowd, and it's better for conversation than for dancing. It's closed on Monday and Tuesday. It opens at 17:00 Wednesday to Saturday and closes at 23:00 midweek or 02:00 on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday it opens 14:00 to 20:00. The gay bars around Heumarkt and Alter Markt are a few minutes' walk away, so it fits easily into a pub crawl.
