Hostel Louise 20 is a budget hostel on Louisenstrasse in Dresden's Outer Neustadt (Aeussere Neustadt). It is a mainstream gay-friendly hostel, not a gay venue. It offers private rooms and small apartments, many with shared bathrooms, plus a communal kitchen.
The Outer Neustadt is Dresden's student and nightlife quarter, packed with bars, cafes and street art, so expect street noise at weekends. The Old Town sights (Frauenkirche, Zwinger) are about a 20-minute walk or a short tram ride across the Elbe. Google reviewers give it 4.3 from about 350 reviews.

Great location, friendly staff, affordable, cozy, and very clean...what more could you want?! I even got a coffee in the morning after asking, even though I hadn't booked breakfast. Perfect! Only downside: Someone stole our labeled goat cheese from the fridge! :( What a rip-off!! But the hostel can't be held responsible for that...
