Barcarolle is an old-school gay pub on Konkordiastraße in Hannover and one of the oldest in the city. The interior has been left largely as it was in the 1960s, and that is the main draw: wood, low light and a room where regulars and passers-by talk across the bar rather than shout over music. Landlady Carola is part of the fixture. This is a place for a beer and conversation, not dancing. The crowd skews older and local, and newcomers are taken in easily. No hours are on file here, so check the bar's website or call ahead before making a special trip.
