La Cage

La Cage is a gay-owned bar on Die Freiheit, a short street in Kassel's Mitte near the town hall. It works the way small-city queer bars usually do: a sociable room for drinks and conversation with a regular crowd, plus the odd party night. There's no big dance floor. The name has also been used for occasional La Cage XL parties held at larger venues in town. The last hours we have are Tuesday to Saturday from early evening until about 1am, closed Sunday and Monday. It's one of the few dedicated LGBTQ+ addresses in Kassel, so confirm current hours on its listings before you go.
