Gay bars in Mannheim: what's actually open (October 2026)
Mannheim has one dedicated gay bar, a fetish bar and a few queer parties. That's the whole list. If you want a night of bar-hopping, Frankfurt is 35 minutes away by ICE. Here's what's real in Mannheim.
Café Klatsch
Café Klatsch at Hebelstraße 3, near the Wasserturm, is the city's one gay bar. Travel Gay lists it as open since 1990. It's a small café-bar for a drink and karaoke, not a club. There's no website, so just turn up in the evening.
Jails
jails is a gay fetish bar in the basement of the MS Connexion building at Angelstraße 33 in Neckarau. It opens for themed nights on its calendar (jails-mannheim.de), and many have a dress code. The regulars include the Sunday Naked Party, men-only All-Fetish and Red Night, PAWS for bears, and mixed nights such as TIN*licious.
Parties
GAYWERK at MS Connexion Complex is the big one, several times a year, including Halloween and the CSD weekend. Disco Zwei - Mannheim is a techno club that hosts Ponyclub, a queer party, on the third Saturday of each month. Queerlactica parties also happen there.
Community café
The Queeres Zentrum Mannheim at G7 14 runs a volunteer café-bar from Thursday to Saturday, 18:00 to 23:00. It's the easiest place to meet locals and find out what's on.
Closed
Solo (U4 15-16) is listed by Google as permanently closed. Studio7, MEN Only and Club Action are gone too.
