Iari The Vino is a trattoria and wine bar on Via Frangipane, a short walk from the Colosseum on the edge of Monti. It's a mainstream gay-friendly restaurant, not a gay venue. The menu is standard Roman: carbonara, cacio e pepe, amatriciana and meat dishes, with a long wine list. With more than 11,000 Google reviews at 4.7, it's firmly on the tourist circuit. Prices are moderate for this part of town, but it fills up, so book or arrive early for dinner. Rome's main gay strip, Via di San Giovanni in Laterano, is about ten minutes' walk away.

Amazing food! Ordered the saute Misto con cozze, von gole E pachinko (mussel seafood mix), bruschetta miste and lasagnatta Dello chef. All sooo tasty. The lasagna came out hot and fresh. Efficient, wonderful service from Serena and staff. Cute outdoor vibes. Definitely will come back if we are ever in town again.
