Hotel Ziya

This is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location. I would generally recommend although it comes with some caveats: - Pros: great location, 5 min walking distance to downtown restaurant and bar streets, extremely clean, lobby and room is beautiful, parking is easy and secure, staff is helpful and polite, shower is good - Cons: the mattress is very uncomfortable - unsupportive and thin, suggestion for hotel to add a mattress top. Would not recommend if you're a sensitive sleeper in terms of bed

No AC for you! Hotel refused to turn on centrally controlled AC when it was 27C (87F) outside. Gave various excuses stating that older guests wanted heating (??) and that the person who could enable the AC wasn't working that day. Also the bed was hard and you could feel the springs through the thin mattress. Not a 5-star hotel.

Peaceful location and hotel itself, excellent ambient, very polite staff,

A truly beautiful and very clean hotel. We stayed there on our last day before departure, as our flight was so early. However, when we mentioned that the TV wasn't working and the shower door was broken off its hinges, we were reminded that we were only staying one night. This happened after we had waited in vain at the bar to place an order. We had already waited patiently and for quite some time for our drinks. The whirlpool was filled especially for us, but unfortunately, it didn't work; my husband then noticed that some cables had been disconnected. The spa area with the swimming pool was very nice, though, and the pre-booked massage was very soothing and professionally performed by a physiotherapist. The service was generally very friendly, apart from the aforementioned issues. The location was also very convenient, as all the restaurants were within walking distance. We didn't visit the old town itself.
