They don’t have cleaners from what I’m seeing , they are not cleaning rooms at all

Whilst I was checking in a lady came to reception to report a man was in her room! They double booked the room and gave her key cards to someone elses room. I used the check in machine and all appeared ok, until I see the next day I've been charged twice (£396 x 2), not the end of the world, I thought, so spoke with a dismissive but friendly chap on reception who said it's probably just a pre approval as it's showing in pending transactions. So gave it a few days and the money left my account, visited again and pressed the bell as no one was on reception, a really grumpy chap came out of the office clearly not happy that I've disturbed him, and told me he can only see one payment against the room, showed him my banking app, he replied whilst walking back to the office that if the money isn't back with me in a week to come back, didn't even take my details bearing in mind I'd already told him I had paid for the room for someone else, this chap needs a little training. My bank are now sorting it out since they didn't want to. The automatic door in the entrance stopped working, not so much as a notice put up, people had to figure out for themselves that they have to manually slide the door. On Monday around 2am a gentleman who had just flown in from Germany was kicked out on the street because again they double booked his room. On leaving I went to pick up my daughter and her partner as he had a coach to catch, they told me they couldn't get downstairs because one lift is out of order and the staff had turned off the other lift so the cleaners could use it, my daughter uses a wheelchair, I had to go in and tell reception to turn it back on, I was told the cleaners should only be another 20 minutes! I strongly suggested he helps them get down stairs and to be fare to him he did. But whose idea was it to turn off the only working lift in a 5 story building at the time everyone is checking out with all their luggage? It's a real shame as I've used Premier Inn all over the country for years and thought very well of the company but you may want to avoid this one. Faulty Towers would be a more accurate sign to put on the side of the building.

I've stayed here many times over the years. I often stay here for work. Over the years, I've definitely noticed the blind eye being turned to maintainance/ upkeep. First off, the parking is limited. My company pays for the parking address on. If you are not there by 17:00, you'll be in the general charged parking area. It's not expensive, just an inconvenience. Generaly staff have been welcoming and friendly when checking in. The rooms, definitely going down hill over the years I've stayed. This time, was the trigger for me to write a review. As British people we often only write bad reviews or really good reviews when something has been amazing. This is neither. This is a middle of the road review. The room is what you'd expect from a premier in, there are pretty uniform. However I first entered and was hit with smell, that of a secondary school changing room. You know the one, BO and lynx. The room was okay. The bathroom however, not great either. The sink taps are always poor with a pathetic spray pattern. The shower was all over the place. Hot, cold hot l, cold.... The shower head, mouldy, ceilings in the corners... Mouldy. Bathroom floor dusty. Hair from the previous visitor present in the bath. Soap holder next to the sink, rusty. The bottle has obviously been there some time just being topped up. I get if you don't want to change the bottle for environemntal reasons. But install a dispenser... The bed and pillow are what you would expect from a premier inn. For once I was not situated on the side of pop world. Good luck if you get one of those rooms when it's open. Premier inns are usually a safe ground. A step above days in and travel lodge. On this visit, it definitely did not surpass them. Food is okay... I've never had a meal here and thought, I'd have it again. Alot of the time I just go and get food somewhere else. I'm not one to turn down food for calories, but for what the food is, it is incredibly calorific. Would I stay here again.... Probably because it's where I am placed by my company. Let's hope it's even slightly better next time. Yes, I am also aware I could of raised this with staff. However from previous experience, it's not got me anywhere and I'm not paying. I've slept in worst places, that's for sure. Just better cleaning probably would of avoided me writing this.

Really nice clean rooms, had a lot of fun that night, great Premier inn

We stay at Premier Inn different cities quite alot, first time staying here, lovely hotel and love how its near to the shopping centre, restaurant and bar and the theatre, a great location. Would like to praise Kwabea, for just excellent customer service, very welcoming and helpful, had a lovely warm presence about him, he was great with all customers, thank you Kwabea.Employee like yourself is a great asset to Premier Inn, Also thanks to Emily, who called us a taxi really appreciate it, as we were having a nightmare to get one as we were going to an event that day. We will stay here again, we like it, nice room and friendly staff.

though I asked for a quiet room, I was given one next to a linen cupboard and was woken by the continuous banging of doors and loud conversations of the chamber maids. Bin in the room hadn’t been emptied also.
