The JW Marriott Lima is a large luxury hotel on the Malecón de la Reserva in Miraflores, on top of the cliffs above the Pacific and right next to the Larcomar shopping centre. It's a mainstream international hotel, gay-friendly under Marriott's equality policies, not a gay hotel. Many rooms look out over the ocean, and it has a pool, spa and several restaurants and bars. It's the top price tier for Lima. Google reviewers rate it 4.7 from over 8,600 reviews. Peru doesn't recognise same-sex partnerships, and international chain hotels are the safest bet for couples asking for a double bed. Miraflores and nearby Barranco have most of the city's gay bars, a short taxi ride away.

A 5-star experience. Everything was great. Excellent service and quality. However, when you go to the bathroom at night, automatic lights turn on and wake you up, which was the only thing I didn't like. (I prefer a bathroom without automatic lights.)
