Halifax Pride

Halifax Pride is the nonprofit that organizes the Halifax Pride Festival, the largest Pride event in Atlantic Canada. The first march, in 1988, drew a few dozen people, and some of them hid their faces with paper bags. Today the festival runs for about ten days each July, with a downtown parade, festival grounds, and community events. The society also runs smaller programming through the year.
