I’ve been in not many hostels but this one, the vibes are real good, rooms are okay and premises are also nice! No much to complain about I’ll be back if I had to stay in colonial zone

Perfect location in the Zona Colonial. It's in a locked building, in a gorgeous historic building right off a main street. The place is squeaky clean, and made for a true backpacker experience- common spaces are designed to facilitate easily meeting people, as is the (included) communal breakfast. Showers had great pressure and there are lockers in the dorms. Super highly recommend!

Easily one of my favorite places in the Dominican Republic. Nice people, clean and cheap rooms, and great location to explore the Colonial Zone by foot. If you‘re looking fir a Hostel, this is the place to be in Santo Domingo! A great option for enjoying the colonial zone of Santo Domingo... The staff has a very good attitude, especially Claudia, a Dominican woman I was very happy to meet.

The owner, Chris, is awesome. Really fun hostel with really fair prices. Only place to stay in Santo Domingo.

I traveled to Santo Domingo last month with my 2 friends from Ireland. The owner, Chris, was extremely welcoming and friendly. He’s a very funny lad who’s down for a good laugh. We’ve stayed at many hostels around the world, but Island Life had the best all round vibe. The hostel is very aesthetic and clean, featuring a beautiful wooden oak bar with very cheap drinks, a nice swimming pool, and spacious rooms. Chris’s two volunteers, Max and Claudia, were also very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of recommendations posted daily in the WhatsApp group. We highly recommend Island Life Hostel. Don’t stay anywhere else if you’re looking to meet cool people and have a good time! Thanks Chris!
