Equality Illinois

Equality Illinois is the state's main LGBTQ+ civil-rights and lobbying organisation. It works on legislation and public education, covering employment protections, family law, hate-crime laws, transgender rights and school safety, and it endorses candidates at election time. It is an office-based advocacy group, not a community centre or drop-in space, and there is little reason for a visitor to show up in person. The Halsted Street address here may be out of date. Check the website for the current office and for events or volunteering. If you want a drop-in space in Northalsted, Center on Halsted is a few blocks away.
