Antebellum Guest House

This place was INCREDIBLE! Truly like stepping back in time into an amazing piece of New Orleans history. Keith was a fantastic host, told us all about the history of the house and the area. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Would 100% stay here again next time we’re in New Orleans.

Had a great time here! Was a perfect location on a very safe street, close enough to walk to everywhere. Keith was so friendly and the breakfast was interesting and delicious! The back garden was so relaxing and the hot tub a nice way to wind down the day! Would definitely recommend for a cool historic stay in New Orleans!

Like stepping back into the 19th century... House furnishings, Keith's clothes, and most especially, the 3 course breakfasts he makes to perfection, many from historic recipes. Highlights included an exquisite 1830s creole eggs and a boudin that was perfect. Keith uses high quality ingredients and really knows how to cook. Poached eggs on the boudin were better than ones we've had at high end hotels. It makes the price really affordable- I've paid more than $75 a head for breakfasts that weren't as good. Along with stunning private back yard and hot tub (tucked away at one side), Antebellum guest house is in the quiet part of Nola, yet close enough to walk everywhere. This was an experience not to be missed. As massive foodies, we will stay there again next trip, partly because he was a lovely host, and partly because we didn't get to try everything he can make!

We ended up staying here in late 2018 for our honeymoon. So needless to say, I’m way behind on leaving this review. Keith and Art were amazing hosts. Keith has a wealth of knowledge which made the trip super enlightening and enjoyable. He always had great recommendations on things to do and places to eat in and around New Orleans. I would have to say that our favorite part was the breakfast Keith would get up early to make each day. Absolutely fantastic and 10/10 would recommend this place to everyone. We hope to go back in the future to visit once again.

Have you ever heard the phrase "Best Kept Secret"? Beyond any doubt, the Antebellum Guest House is NOLA's best kept secret. I have never stayed at any accommodation where I felt such an overwhelming sense that the proprietor wanted me to enjoy my stay and would move heaven and earth to make it so. Inside and out, the AGH is marvelous. Welcoming, comfortable and charming, the place is absolutely eclipsed by it's host. Keith made our stay wonderful, both a consummate host and by serving what I SWEAR to you is the FINEST breakfast in New Orleans. Each service came with a series of fascinating historical discussions regarding it's origins and NOLA culture at large. The back courtyard feels like a daydream, idyllic and reminiscent of some Fae court, complete with numerous resident cats and a late night hot tub. My companion and I stayed in the "Rococo room", a marvelously appointed space that is equally well suited to would-be royals or for those who might want to party like it's 1779. Everything about the hospitality was top-notch. The only part that will seem bittersweet, will be when you eventually have to leave.

I Ab.so.lutely loved this place. I stayed a few years ago, and have kicked myself every time that I've stayed in the city & not stayed with them since. Utterly lovely people, the house is gorgeous, furniture beautiful, & a great location. I hope to be back someday (finally).

Our first trip to New Orleans during Mardi Gras was greatly enhanced by our stay at the Antebellum Guest House. The hosts are beyond accommodating and instantly make you feel like family. The food is devine, the energy in the home and courtyard is soothing. I quickly noticed that behind the scene attention to detail put in by the host's are immeasurable. The time and care they take for their guests is like nothing I have experienced. I can't imagine visiting New Orleans and staying anywhere else.

Incredible guest house! We used to stay in hotels before discovering Antebellum Guest House. Staying in this historic building helps you to experience a bit of old New Orleans in style. The beds are super comfortable, and my wife loves the soft sheets. What makes this place stand out is your host Keith. He recreates delicious historical breakfasts. We make a point to visit top restaurants each time we visit New Orleans, but none of them top the experience of breakfast at Antebellum.

This was my first time to New Orleans and how lucky we were to come to stay at the Antebellum Guest House. Keith was absolutely wonderful. He cooked and presented the most amazing breakfasts and his vast knowledge of the house and the area was fascinating. He gave us excellent recommendations on restaurants. We can't wait to come back and stay with Keith again. :)
