Great hotel. Great staff. Beautiful courtyard/pool.
Loved my stay at the Frenchmen Hotel! The location is 10/10, close to music, restaurants, bars and shopping! The whole staff was fantastic but Bianca was really amazing! So incredibly helpful with everything we needed and provided such a welcoming environment. I thought the rooms and ambiance was so charming and we got a lot of use out of the pool and hot tub! Thanks for a great stay!
The Frenchman was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting the French Quarter. They had the most affordable rates for the location. Everything we wanted to do was within a 15 minute walk. The rooms were comfortable and fashionable (my husband and I like fun colors and wallpaper). As long as you don’t mind a small bathroom, it’s perfect! We were warned about there maybe being some late night noise, it is right next to a bar after all. But we didn’t experience any major disruption in our night, and the white noise machine in the room was a huge plus! The common area has free water and a Keurig, as well as the rooms having a kettle and instant coffee and tea options. The rooms have smart TVs, so you can just log in to your subscriptions and it will auto log out on check-out day. The staff was SUPURB. Always greeting us when we walked in and wishing us a good time when we left. They had recommendations and tips on the ready and overall were super personable. My bit of tourist advice when visiting here: the parking. The hotel does not have partnered parking anywhere. They do recommend a certain lot over others BUT we kept our car in a lot covered by AirGarage Parking on Gov Nicholls Warf. It’s more patrolled and since we essentially wanted to park our car and not come back to it for 4 nights it seemed the safest option. $25 a night, pricey but worth it for the peace of mind
Just know that this is a New Orleans Party street! It's loud. and know that the building is old and multi story, so there's gonna be neighbors stomping around all hours. But that being said, the staff was UH-MAZEBALLS, The room was clean, the bed was sooo comfortable, AND, the room came with a white noise machine, and earplugs. If you can handle the party, you'll give it 5 stars too!
Historic building in an ideal location. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was very spartan, with a hard tile floor and few amenities. Small, funky bathroom with a tiny sink (but it did have an exhaust fan, somewhat of a rarity.) As to the "Free high-speed Wi-Fi", well, it was free, but high-speed only when compared to a dial-up connection in 1995; Verizon's cellular data in the room was literally 236 times faster. My main complaint (and this is a Google Maps issue and NOT the fault of The Frenchmen) is that this is the worst case of hotel rating classification inflation I have ever seen. I have visited 48 of 50 states, and have stayed at a multitude of properties. At a 4-star hotel, you can expect to find elevators in multistory buildings, valet parking, an on-site restaurant, room service, carpeted bedroom, coffeemaker, microwave, upscale wall art, a desk with a comfortable chair and writing materials, table, upholstered easy chair and/or sofa, bathtub, a large well-lit bathroom with multiple mirrors, bathrobe, bedroom wastebasket, phone to call front desk, an armoire or a chest of drawers, and a clock. The Frenchmen offers none of those things.
Bianca and the entire team were incredible. We booked several rooms for an author event and every single person from housekeeping to the desk attendants went above and beyond for us. We love this location and love the vibes, def recommend to everyone passing through town.
