Olivier House Hotel

This "hotel" is so much more than just a place to stay. It truly is an embodiment of what I imagined New Orleans would be. The numerous courtyards, hallways, alcoves, architecture details, and bursting character made it a destination in its own rite. Quirky and surprising with every turn, I started and ended every day with a smile. It's not a chain, it has flaws but those add to the charm. We stayed in the Petite Loft king room, on the suggestion of several phone conversations with a staff member while my crisis of indecision. The room wasn't bright and airy but was bursting with the New Orleans feel. The decor was a mix of culture and ethnic influences. No two pieces "fit" the other but somehow were perfect. Downstairs was a living area, full bathroom, kitchenette that was well appointed. The Loft area had a king bed (comfortable, nice pillows), small closet and half bath. I have only two "complaints"...additional lighting in the Loft and a proper headboard for the bed. I did hit my head twice on the shelf trim behind the bed (admittedly my fault but it could be great for accident prone people like me). I am attaching photos but my lack of photography skills do it no justice! And the staff! Friendly and helpful but authentic. Not invasive or "fake". Real people. Amazing! Okay, I wanted to post photos but didn't know how....

Easily one of the most unique stays I’ve ever had. The property itself is the quintessential French architectures you’d expect in the French quarter. The hotel itself is actually a combination of buildings that have been carefully joined to provide an atmosphere of wonder and curiosity. As a result, all rooms are different and have unique characteristics. Do not expect your typical hotel experience if you book this. The parlor rooms and various shared common areas are stunning spaces that make you feel like you are living a life of luxury in the mid 1850s. Lastly but not least, the staff is absolutely incredible. As an architecture aficionado my stay was made with a tour by the hotel owner who explained the process of curating and joining the various buildings over the years. He entertained my many questions on restorations and complexity of work. Truly truly unique stay - and watch out for the ghosts!

We came here for our Honeymoon and absolutely loved it! The room was so cute and spacious, and the whole hotel is so unique and eclectic. And the CATS! We love them so much. Said hello and goodbye every time we passed, but Ragie was the real star, and he won employee of the month for a reason. He is such a lover, and even came into our room with us to play and nap on our bed. At one point, he came to our door and meowed to be let in and hang out with us for a little bit. The only gripe we have is that with the balcony rooms, since it is an old building, all of the outside noises sound extremely loud. The city is either power washing the streets, or taking the dumpsters every morning, however that’s not the hotels fault. Everyone was so nice and there are free drinks and snacks all day long. It’s walkable to literally everything, and there are such cute sitting areas around the hotel. We cannot wait to come back here again, and Ragie should get employee of the year

We loved our stay here. The property itself is gorgeous, including the rooms. I was surprised to see that house keeping cleans your room everyday of your stay. The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful as well. The best thing is that they never put a hold on my card. I was only charged once and it was just for the room price. The only downside to our stay was that the wifi was spotty, and our TV didn't work because of it. Also the ac was very noisy and rattled constantly.

The staff is wonderful. The rooms are clean. I gave 4 stars for location because I thought it was on the river front or you could at least see it and you can't.

The hospitality showed to me was unreal. Thank you for the late night accommodations so I didn’t have to drive back to the Northshore after a sore Saints loss ! Hahaha. Would reccomend to anyone willing to listen.

5 stars, minus the bed! I think it’s definitely worth mentioning that the bed was a little rough to sleep on because I know that is a make or break situation for folks. I lived with it because the rest of the stay was excellent. Gorgeous historical hotel. The staff (including the cats!!!) were so friendly and welcoming. Every time we came in or left, they would acknowledge us. It was so nice to have kitties around. A street balcony room is definitely not for the weak. Being a block from Bourbon, it gets pretty noisy and we did have a few super souped up cars/stereos wake us up a couple of times but that’s not on the hotel. We did spend a ton of time on the balcony watching the city go by, listening to the crows, and just enjoying every moment we could. The pool? Amazing. It was so cold when we got in but it was a blast. The courtyard is beautiful. The lobby offers coffee, water, and snacks (thank you for the water and tangerines!) and there’s so much to see around the hotel. The 4th floor view of downtown is great. Housekeeping was spot on. Definitely recommend!

This is an outstanding place to stay in the heart of the French Quarter. The reviews I saw before staying there are very accurate. The staff is the most friendly and most helpful I have seen especially considering the exceptional location. They have done a great job of balancing the historic features with amenities.

The old house is very unique, with many beautiful corners, a cute cat, and free drinks and snacks.
