Melrose Gateway Arch

The Melrose Gateway Arch spans 7th Avenue just north of Indian School Road and marks the south entrance to the Melrose District. It went up in November 2013: an 80-foot steel truss arch designed by Gensler. A rainbow crosswalk was added a few blocks north, at 7th Avenue and Glenrosa in July 2018. It's a neighbourhood gateway rather than an LGBTQ+ memorial, but the strip it opens onto holds the city's densest run of gay bars, so it has become the standard photo stop. Stacy's, Boycott, The Rock and Off Chute Too are all within a few minutes' walk. In summer, do the walking after dark.
