Basic Rights Oregon

Basic Rights Oregon is the statewide LGBTQ+ advocacy and policy organisation, headquartered in Portland. It works on state legislation, transgender justice, racial equity and voter education. It played a central role in Oregon's campaigns for anti-discrimination protections and marriage equality, which reached the state in 2014. This is an advocacy office, not a drop-in centre or social venue. Visitors are most likely to come across it through rallies, volunteer days or events around Pride. Check the organisation's website for current campaigns and volunteer opportunities.
