Rainbow History Project

Rainbow History Project is a volunteer-run organization that collects and preserves the history of LGBTQ+ life in the Washington area: oral histories, photographs, papers and records from bars, groups and community events. Its archival collection is held at the DC History Center, 801 K Street NW, where researchers can arrange access. It has no public office or drop-in hours. Contact it through rainbowhistory.org, which also publishes community history material and details of occasional walking tours and talks.
