Protea Hotel Dar es Salaam Courtyard

This is a very lovely property in close proximity to the beach area and about 30 minutes away from the airport. It's a boutique style place with a lot of green areas and its somewhat quiet. I enjoyed the hospitality and added touch of service (fruit plate, room is prepared at night, thank you letter...) and the room i was given at the ground level adjacent the pool was perfect for me. The room was functional with the usual amenities. Due to the climate and the building structure, the room had a bit of a "musky smell" but nothing too bothersome, just noticeable. The room was sprayed at night against mosquitos and provided a comfortable nights rest. The on-site restaurant has a good menue, excellent service and the quality of the offers is very good. There is seating both inside and outside which made it more like a holiday feel than a business stay layover. I liked the attention to service and although i generally stayed at another property in town, i will make this my place to stay when in Dar es Salaam as it delivered above my expectations and the pricing is affordable/justifyable.

Its location in terms of access to points of interest is central. However, behind the walls there is an oasis of unique beauty. The relaxation around the pool, the wonderful cuisine, the comfort and amenities of the two rooms we stayed in (initially a double and then a triple) were excellent. The staff was polite, helpful, friendly!
