Great night, very enjoyable dinner. Staff were excellent and very friendly

We came in after a recommendation to check this place out, and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was great and the banter with the staff was on point. We all enjoyed our entrees, and it was a tie between the grilled squid and the sticky chicken karate bites. The mains were equally up there, with the Crocodile Dumplings and the Steak Entrecôte winners, just pipping out the Sous Vide Lamb rump. Cocktails were delicious , and the local gin and tonic a firm favourite. Spying the Salty plum t-shirt on the way out a quick purchase made for happy customers all round. We will be back. We had a lovely evening here. The atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and full of character. The cocktails were excellent, the food was beautifully presented and tasted great, and the overall experience was memorable. What I appreciated most was the comfortable atmosphere—it wasn’t just about the food and drinks, but the feeling of being able to slow down and enjoy the moment. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back.

So cool we thought we were in Melbourne! Not Melbourne prices though . Lovely staff & friendly , attentive bar manager . Hope to go back before we leave Darwin .

Kangaroo was absolutely delicious. Staff are amazing, friendly, helpful, cheery. Gin flight was 3 gin tastings, an absolute must! Prices very good for the quality. Everyone should experience Charlie's.

I'm late in writing this review, but trust me, it is worth the wait! We are longstanding Territorians, and this was certainly not our first visit to Charlie’s. We have been lucky enough to attend some amazing set menu events here, and let me tell you: if you get the chance to have the chef pick for you, do it! Our latest visit was during Darwin Festival, as Charlie's created a “Festival Feeds” menu for sittings between 3-6pm, which was basically prior to all the Festival shows. The menu features so many longstanding favourites, but also some new things that the chef was trying. What I loved was that the chef personally delivered each course to the table and explained the local produce on the plate, his inspirations behind the dish, and what he hoped we would taste and experience. Wow – that tableside service was unexpected but sooo appreciated! It was great to talk to the chef and ask questions and give feedback. We just did the 2-course option, but I joked that it was too early for dessert and I would come back to try the torte, as I am a bit of a hussy for Chocolate! Then he surprised us five minutes later and brought out the torte and said he wanted us to try it, as he had tried pairing it with something different and wanted our feedback! Hell yeah! It was delicious! Honestly, when was the last time a head chef came to your table and explained the meals and why he created them as he did? I’ll wait. Of this select menu, the mushroom wellington was actually my favourite of the night (closely followed by the torte!), but hubby really liked the crocodile dumplings, a regular menu staple. It was a great few hours prior to the show, and I can not wait to go back and see what the chef’s newest creations are!

Great night was had in Charlie’s last week with the family. Food and drinks unmatched in Darwin. Katelin the lovely Irish waitress made the whole night even better with the incredible service.

What a great place! The food is great value for money, the venue is cute and the service is amazing! Katelyn served us and she was honestly the most nice, kind and friendly waitress I’ve had in Darwin. Definitely going back soon!

We had a fantastic evening, thanks to Gavin and his team We enjoyed small plates and a number of creative, delicious cocktails.

I truly enjoyed the meal; the food was exquisite, and the desserts were absolutely amazing. I would certainly return in the future.

We really enjoyed our three course Festival Feed at Charlies today. The black lentil arancini and smoked barra puri starters were incredible! Followed by grilled kangaroo and fish & chips that were tasty and nicely sized. The chocolate torte with mandarin oil and house made icecream was decadent and delicious. Service was fantastic and we appreciated the Chef coming out to describe the dishes. A perfect way to start the festival! Thank you Charlies. We will be back to try the other festival feeds.
