GOD (Gays On Display)

We visited Bar Code during our last night in Siem Reap on a family trip. My boyfriend and I wanted to spend some time alone and enjoy a bit of the local gay scene, and after finding this place on Google Maps, we decided to give it a try. At first, we had an amazing time. The bartender, the DJ, and the drag queens were absolutely fascinating — warm, charismatic, and clearly passionate about what they do. They truly gave us a fun and memorable night, and we’re very grateful for that part of the experience. Unfortunately, the night ended very badly. When we were about to leave, we were informed that the card machine was not working. Shortly after, a man approached us aggressively — at first I thought he was just another customer, but later realized he was apparently the owner. He insisted that we needed to find cash immediately because the card machine was broken. While my boyfriend tried to handle the situation calmly, the ATM nearby wasn’t working either, and things escalated unnecessarily. We were followed back to the venue while being accused of trying to leave without paying, and insulting comments were made toward us that felt humiliating and deeply disrespectful. Thankfully, I still had some cash with me and we were able to pay, but the situation completely ruined what had otherwise been a beautiful evening. It’s a shame, because the performers and staff on the floor truly made the place special. Sadly, the aggressive and unprofessional behavior we experienced at the end left us with a very bitter impression.

Initially we had an amazing time at this place. Great dj, incredible drags, friendly barman. Until the owner came in…. We thought he was a friendly English guy. How far away we were! He was a terrible drama queen that can make your night a living HELL. When we wanted to leave, the friendly barman pointed to where we could get cash because their machine wasn’t working. I went out and the owner followed me. He just started saying I couldn’t leave without paying (when my bf and our bags where clearly still inside of the place). I told him I wasn’t leaving, I was just getting cash because the machine wasn’t working. Without giving me time to get to an ATM he got very aggressive and I just went back to the place. He kept on being very STUPIP and AGGRESSIVE saying I didn’t want to pay. Fortunately my bf had some cash left and we could pay the bill with that, not enough to leave the tip that we would have wanted to because the girls from the show deserved it. The owner was still there until we left. Very uncomfortable. A complete creepy. If he wants his place to succeed, he should go back to his dungeon and never come back. His bf is a good person and should care for the place. He should just disappear for the world.

Wasn’t my favorite place. It had the smell of moth balls which was not pleasant, at some point the bartender began spraying aerosol to mask the smell and a large cockroach on the wall in the bathroom. Our drinks tasted great however the cockroach turned me off the moment I saw it.

It seems like a nice place and staff are friendly and welcoming. But most of the choices on the drinks menu are blanked out and unavailable. So not so great

this is a great dance club with a,great show. the owner charlie is very nice

Nice bar, the drag queens work their butts off, amazing, but the bar staff only look at their phones and don't pay any attention to the customers. They don't make small talk at all, and well, because of that, customers leave.
