I took a smaller room, which I preferred. If you need parking, I would advise including that in your booking, as parking is at a premium. The hotel is very close to everything downtown, with plenty of extra pubs and places to eat nearby. However, the food here is very good if you are limited on time.

I was very disappointed to pay $250 a night to sleep on a 20+ year old mattress definitely not luxury accommodation very uncomfortable rooms need modernisation will not be returning

Great place with impeccable service. Our suite had a separate living room and television, kitchenette, in room washing machine. Location was very safe. Adjacent to Sofitel. Very close to the Parliament building, shops and restaurants, and the wharf. Highly recommended.

Perfect location for my needs. Large well appointed rooms. Quiet. Friendly staff. Good fitness facilities and a decent price. Very highly recommended for any traveller to Wellington.

Stayed here for two nights in a premier one King studio on April weekend. Turns out there is a music festival happening on that Friday of our arrival (Ultra New Zealand). Location: The hotel is in central location, walking distance to the cable car, rose garden, the waterfront and the main street with shops, restaurants and everything you need. Very quiet at night, no loud noise from the street. Parking: They charge $40 per night for valet parking and they have limited space, so you need to book ahead. Turns out that on weekends the city have free parking, and there are several spots 2 minute walking from the hotel, so that’s where we parked for free. Also lots of spots on the street right by the hotel’s entrance, free from 8 pm to 8 am, and 2.5 dollars an hour during the day ( max allowed 3 hours). Service: We had a specific request to get a room away from the elevator because we are light sleepers. They put us in a room where the door is right in front of the elevator on the second floor. looks like they don’t read your request so if there is something that’s really important to you, you should call ahead and make sure they note it. Lobby: The lobby is be pretty small but has some seating spots, very modern with nice decor. Coffee and drinks bar by the reception. Free big umbrellas for guests use in the lobby. Water fountain in the lobby with cups. You can also fill up your own bottles. Room: The hallway and the stairs look old but when you get into the room it is remodelled, beautiful and modern. Room 206 is right in front of the elevator, and has a view of a parking lot building and a cemetery. Loud noise of people waiting for the elevator right by the room. Luxurious robes and slippers are provided. Kitchenette with kettle, coffee, tea dishes and silverware. Heated towels in the bathroom. Sitting area with two sofa chairs and a coffee table. Strong and stable WiFi. Medium- firm comfortable mattress.

Great location, close to everything but quiet and off the immediate path. Service is great. We arrived early and they held our bags and brought them directly to our room while we went out and explored. Rooms are large, washer/dryer in the room is super convenient. Showers are amazing, great water pressure and was the greatest part after flying for 18hrs.

We loved it! The room was comfortable with everything we needed to prepare a simple dinner, a washing machine, and the spa was a great place to relax. We stayed over Easter weekend, and it was very quiet (a little too quiet, perhaps). We had dinner at the Artisan restaurant, and it was very good.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights stay at this hotel. Room is spacious and clean. It is close to the shopping and attractions. Average breakfast.

Great coffee shop! Really love coming here for coffee with colleagues, great location, excellent coffee and service, and beautiful setting (you get may choices of places to sit). I will definitely be bringing more of my colleagues here for coffee catch ups. Edit: came back for a hot chocolate, wow incredible!!

When my work mentioned they had booked a “nice” accommodation for my trip, I thought, “Hmm… sure, whatever.” But arriving at the Bolton Hotel for my 5 nights stay completely changed my expectations. It wasn’t just nice, it was absolutely amazing. Location second to none, perfect for work trip. The little coffee spot by the entrance quickly became my go to every morning before work, and the barista consistently made the perfect cup to start my day despite I had a 2 different Barista during my stay Housekeeping was also exceptional, my room was spotless every single day when I returned from work. Truly impressed with the entire experience. Highly recommend! -1001
